We both posted barred owl shots today! Yours was facing you though, so I can see the legs better and I like your backdrop best. In these poses it's clear to see the feathers on their legs which I didn't realize they had. And those eyes are really something! What lovely creatures these are!

Dearest Theresa,
Beautiful shots of barred owl♡♡♡
We call them "fukurou フクロウ” As its name sounds like "without hardships" in Japanese, we think it a lucky bird and sometimes we decorate the ornament of them.

PS> Haha, I deleted the former one. I hit the certain key which publish before finishing p;)

parker said...

Wide-eyed and wise. Doesn't appear to give two-hoots that a camera is staring back at it! Nice series!

Fireblossom said...

Did those talons! She must go through the polish...

Leave It To Davis said...

They are pretty, but they are ruthless, too, aren't they? I wouldn't want those talons to rip me to shreds.

Joseph Jameson-Gould said...

Great camouflage, were it not for the Terminator eyes!

Maggid said...

I am so impressed. The few times I've been fortunate enough to see an owl in person - I stand in awe - I never remember to grab a camera - thank you for a more lasting view . . a Good One, too - You Rock!

They have such fascinating faces.

Karen S. said...

They are a mysterious and lovely creature! We have the Great Horned Owl in my parts, that I hear often on a winter's evening out with my dogs. But I've yet to really capture their untidy hole or markings in the snow as yet. I almost thought we saw one this year, but I can't be sure. We found some that looked much like their wing and feather imprints.

I think he was watching you!!

Indrani said...

Wow! Do they have red eyes? or is it the flash light?
