i like the color of his beak, have not seen one of these in real life. Walking into walmart at 6:30 am this past week end and i heard quack quack so turned and went to find what was in the parking lot, 3 beautiful male mallards wandering around the lot. i smiled and continued in and heard loud squawking and turned and a woman was chasing them... wanted to smack her

T, I don't know why they didn't call it a ring-billed duck!
you must have invisible signs hovering over your place - "come stay and take a load off of your wings!" LOLthis past sunday was in the 40's so we took a walk; overhead the snow geese were flying back north- i stood there and listened as they flew so low i could hear their wings beating, looked directly up and watched as they shifted partners here and there with a honk or two...it was beautiful.
I hope he wasn't all by himself...nothing lonelier than a lone duck in the rain.
Was he all by himself? He sure is a pretty duckie!
I love ducks. It's wonderful birds.Your a true model.Regards:)
I'm ready to get out and see some ducks... or something other than the inside of my dang house!
Sure is hard to see that ring, but you showed it well. Funny they did not mane him "ring-billed" as that is such an obvious marking.
Good to see your pictures of Ring-necked Duck TWG as we occasinally get them here in the UK as vagrants. Never see them as well as your pictures though.

These little ducklings we see only in winter. Then they pull away again. Your pictures are from December, I read it but you did it nicely in the picture got :-)
You caught the rings! Beautiful!
I'm glad you pointed out the ring, it does blend with the dark colors. Nice raindrop splashes as they hit the water.
Handsome guy, especially like the markings on his bill. Hope he comes back and brings some friends.
They're just starting to migrate from Tucson now. Hope you get to see more.
