So beautiful dogs!Nice weekCrissi
Oh I just love them the last one is my favourite. They do their job very well. B
Barons lustrous coat must be second to none, how beautiful it looks in the sunshine. They are both such great looking dogs.
What sweet pictures. Beautiful pets.
Do the birds mind them being there? Gorgeous dogs!
What great looking dogs !!! Have a wonderful start to your week
Watch dogs on duty - afterall, you usually have something in that feeder.
...so do the birds feel free to come on down when the watch-dogs are out?
Do you rent them out for "side hustles"? I need something/somebody to rid our yard of the Canada Geese? The job would pay well!
I love dogs I'm in love with dogs.
Great series!! You've got a great security team :)
Morning, how great are they, earning their keep, :) Francine.
Looks like my three. Zeek is black and white, Lamonte is black...and Duke is a tri-colored Beagle. I'll bet they could soak up a ton of sun together. :)
How dogs do love chasing squirrels, but those pesky little creatures always outwit them. Tell those beautiful canines that they're wasting their time, but if they are like ours, they'll never quit hoping!
Good work..... Love those doggies
oh this made me laugh....those two are hard at work! :D
Two beautiful dogs with one thought on their minds. Too cute Tex ~:)
LOL! I want to enjoy a day with these two!! LOL! they take chillin' to a whole new level. ;) blessings ~ tanna
I love their fat bodies. They look very stately as they guard the bird seed!
They are certainly mellow guard dogs. Working hard at their duties and making it look easy. :-)
yin and yang ... lovely boys ...
Are you sure they were on squirrel watch? They looked more like sun worshipers to me!
Hope they get one..or two
How do their little hearts stand the drama? It looks like one of them looks up, just to see if they can make the other one look up. And it works.
I am thinking you don't have to buy bird feed very often!
Haha! Any chance of borrowing them to guard my new feeders lol x
It's a very important job and they do it with such focus.
They look like perfect supervisors!
Welcome to Tex!These pictures are great.Check out my other blog: "Charming places of worship."Monika B.
Looks like they were doing a great job at keeping the squirrels and the birds away!
Squirrel duty :) adorable
Great pix and very important duty is squirrel watch. Have a marvelous Monday.Best wishes Molly
Baron's fur is so glossy! Those must be some nutritious squirrels!
Haha...just dare a varmit to come anywhere near.
I agree with OE, "Squirrels beware." Look like they're doing their job...but where are the birds?
I think their stategy is working. Not a squirrel In Sight!
I have at least one red headed devil dog that would be in the feeder eating the seeds (yup he's weird). Good guard dogs there!
Love Thelma's freckles!
They are taking their job seriously and doing a good job. No squirrels in sight.
They are such beautiful dogs. And so patient! Maybe one day they'll get that dastardly squirrel. :)
looks like really hard work from here... LOL so sweet
LOL. Looks like they take their job very seriously! Do the birds come with them there?
That's too cute.Felicia
Our cat likes to lay in the grass near the bird bath, as if the birds can't see her.
Those two dogs appear to be equally threatening. No wonder there are no squirrels in the area. Smart squirrels don't ya think. ;)
What would they do if a squirrel appeared? I don't think a squirrel would have, with two sentry there but what would have the dogs done?
OH MY... How I've said so many times before---I need Thelma and Baron up here being on Squirrel duty here.. They would have SO SO SO much fun!!!!!! Wanna road trip???? Bring 'em on!!!!Hugs,Betsy
No varmints are going to get past those two!
Ha! They certainly are dedicated to their job.
How sweet are they! Beautiful dogs, and lucky to have you! :)xoxo
I love a good working dog! Or more! ;)
I kept scrolling down, waiting to see what they were looking up at!
Someone-not sure who-said "patience is the art of hoping." You have surely just illustrated that!
Both dogs are beautiful.Oh, how I love dogs ... all!Regards.Lucia
Nothing like a hard day down on the farm!!!!
Precious! I wish my dog would keep and eye out for squirrels, but then he isn't much bigger than one!
They both look like they need a good scratch behnd the ear and a thump on the side.
They would fit in with Simon really well...Simon thinks he is a guard cat....They are such beautiful dogs....
I don't think anything or anyone other than you can get past Thelma and Baron! Baron is so shiny!!!
Looks like the birds stay away while they are on duty watch.
Such hard work!
Your dogs do a fine duty in watching for and keeping squirrels at bay. The squirrels here defy everything including other squirrels to maintain control of any peanuts on the ground.
I'd say the squirrels would think twice about coming around those two hardworking dogs on guard detail. Baron has such a pretty shiny coat!
Those varmints don't stand a chance, but it doesn't mean they won't try, try again. I've missed these photos.
Wow, they are adorable, what better and truer friends then the two of them, out enjoying a beautiful day too! Beware birdies!
Smiles .... as Tilde. She loves to watch the birds ..... but only can find to eat Agner from their cereals, it is coming out of the birds "butt" :) Hanne Bente
They are so patient!! Beautiful dogs!!
I echo the last comment.
It all looks so innocent. :)
Oh - such wonderfully adorable shots!
heerlijk wat zijn ze mooi en ze hebben heerlijk de ruimte omte dollen bij jullie.
Looks like they are content to soak up the sun. Nice looking pups.
They certainly take their job seriously. Beautiful.
Give them an extra treat tonight for a job well done.
Haha, they have a nice time :) But no sqiurrel in sight...:)
Hey, it's harder than it looks!
Squirrel duty looks like really hard work! *haha* They kinda look like they have it all under control, though. :)
Thelma and Baron ..my favorite dogs Labrador's.. such clever dogs Tex.Their coats are so shiny.. they sure are on the lookout.Great photos of them.did they get a squirrel?
Wiewiórka chyba miała obawy przed pieskami i sie nie pojawiła. Pozdrawiam. The squirrel was probably fear of dogs and did not show up. Yours.
Those varmints don't have a chance with the patrol on duty! Yay! They're so beautiful. I also loved the previous two posts that I missed while away....glad to have the update on the llamas (I think they're happy as long as they have a job to do...in Oregon we always see just one guarding a herd of sheep.)
T, nothing get by them!
At least there is no varmint getting a free meal. Have they ever caught one? It looks like a nice warm day and they look like it is time for a nap.
You have a very patient couple of friends.
that sun shows Barons coat off a treat.peter
What good dogs they are! Squirrel duty is one you have to be very diligent about, well worth waiting for hours for that one exhilarating mad chase and the eternal hope that eventually you will catch one of those little varmits.
That made me LOL. It looks pretty effective for birds too!
Looks like they are doing a fine job! Two very good looking dogs! I had a spotted dog like that, 'Petey'. Half Dalmation and half coyote. Yea. He howled on a stump in the yard whenever we left. Loved that dog. xx
Squirrel Duty! You, & they are so funny! You've done it again, Ms Tex!
Thelma and Baron are invited to Minniesnowda to do Squirrel Duty with Stella. Ours seems like it might be more exciting, we have a power line across the yard and the squirrels tear across that line at a high rate of speed. Now Stella knows, (and your gang would too), that there is always a remote possibiity one of the squirrels would fall. Stella lies in wait, for that glorious moment to happen. She would love to have buddies with her to do the job.Cheers,Jo, Stella and Zkhat
Such cute bookends. Love seeing them in posts!
Very beautiful dogs Tex!Great shots!Hope you have a lovely week!Dimi..
What gorgeous dogs!!!Lindahttp://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com http://deltacountyhistoricalsociety.wordpress.com
You have beautiful dogs.
Wow! Your dogs are incredible...not a single squirrel in sight!
Looks like a tough duty!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Cute pics of your lovely dogs patiently waiting!! :)
Looks like the big boys are getting some sun! sandie
Good dogs! And so pretty too.
cute dogs, so sweet and lovely =D
They are soooo cute! Looks like they are enjoying a lazy time :)
Glad their squirrel duty keeps them so busy!! snort!
Such loyal and hard workers. My Baron loves the deep snow. He races around to the back yard, scares the rascals, who jump off the platform feeder, bog down in the snow and er... well the rest is a little to ugly to describe in a family type blog....:)
They are trying to fool the squirrels into thinking that they are lawn statues sitting there all still! lol I hope the squirrels are smarter than that! hahaha
Your dogs always look so sleek and pretty. I'll bet those squirrels didn't show up, did they?
Yes but, I don't see a squirrel:@)
They're so ready! Our regular squirrels know Benny's limitations and taunt him with their presence on higher branches.
Poor squirrels, but the labs are adorable.
Dearest Theresa,Oh, they sure are on duty♡♡♡Fo me, I wish to see squirrels soetimes p;)Seems like a sunny day, they must have a nice tie with you outside beside the job♡♡♡Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
Great photos. These dogs look so healthy and well taken care of! Nice work all around!
Glad to see them hard at work!
Did they ever get to have the chase???? They are such beautiful dogs. Bet they eat LOTS! genie
That cracks me up! They take it very seriously, you can tell!! Beautiful puppies!
hehe, who could handle all that excitement?!?!they sure are earning those bones!!
I can't figure out if they are trying to be still so the squirrels will come closer or they are just enjoying the warm sunshine. A little of both I guess.
I need to hire Thelma and Baron for squirrel duty at my house-thanks for sharing.Velva
Cute and actually quite funny.
These are great. Love the excitement!
Stop working them so hard! ;-)
Your beautiful dogs deserves a rest on the soft grass.JB
Ah gee, they work so hard!
How funny! They are just so darn cute!!!!
How loyal they are! They look remaining firm, while enjoying sunbathe.
What a sweet picture, love those dogs!Blessings,Gert
Bet if a varmit tried to get past these two they would liven up.
They are gorgeous! I have never seen one like your white dog.Thank you for stopping by. Our first linky party is on, please join us if you feel like it :)http://www.pret-a-vivre.com/2013/03/ready-to-waltz-party-time.html
Dearest Theresa,Thelma and Baron take their tasks very serious! BUT the rewards are great considering their happy faces and shiny coats.Hugs to you,Mariette
Thelma and Baron are perfect. Tell them they are welcomed to "bring their watch" to our place . . . Really great photos of Thelma and Baron . . .
Somebody's gotta do it and these two look perfect for the job. :-)
It's a hard job, mom...
LOL! I'd say they don't have to work very hard! Just their mere presence probably deters the rats!
I cant get over how pretty their coats are. Good job, mom.
You have really beautiful dogs. It's funny that just squirrels are a kind of animal that dog dogs like to watch :)
good job, just lie around and it is done.
Such hard work!! ;)
Wow, they look like great patrol dogs. Very serious about their job too. Beautiful dogs and great photos.
Gotta protect that feed from the birds and squirrels! :)
That's a whole different kinda squirrel baffle for your feeder!
there's only one word to say....your dogs are sooo adorable!!lovely shots too.
haha loved that "on squirrel duty!"
LOL!! I love it!
Uh, did you 'splain to them that the squirrels are NOT going to come as long as they are lying right under the feeder?! LOL!!
That's funny! hey are nice-looking dogs!
why haven't I seen this post?? I love it!! Bet no squirrels visited while they were enjoying the sun! How about the birds??
Such good guard pups!xo C
Looks like they're doing a good job of it!
Good dogs! They look like they are taking their job very seriously!
Baron looks as though he's getting ready for a tummy rub. Wish I could oblige. Love them both.
Good looking dogs, nice pictures!
Serious on-duty dogs ! Ha
the squirrels didn't stand a chance this day.
