Tex I can see why you love those cool quirky ducks. They are whimsical little things. Love those watery shots. And I like the little one that looks like he is thinking about diving off the high dive. Fun they are back!
So interesting seeing these long legged ducks with orange beaks! You called them whistlers -- I take it they don't quack but whistle? They are neat ducks!
the last few he looks like he is a diving duck not a whistling duck. i love the watery look of the first few.. they look like paintings, expensive paintings.
As soon as I saw the title of this post,I knew I needed to come right over and check on my favourite ducks. Thanks for putting a smile on my face this morning.
I like the ducks in the water with reflections to add to their appeal. The "show off" is very special duck. Obviously he knows how unique he is. Duck personality must go much deeper than looking like other ducks! :-)
I love them too, but I have never seen one in real life. I have learned about them and come to love them from your pictures. And that dude was definitely posing for his closeup.
They are the cutest things...I could look at pictures of them all day...I love how one is perched up on that limb looking all around and down in the water....
I say again, you have the neatest wildlife around you....
How cute are these ducks. I love ducks. I had a pet white duck in s.A..she would follow me all over the place ..and my setters I had at the time loved her. Ironic ..today, I had lunch with some friends. One of the ladies remarked after lunch, that she had seen the most oddest of ducks on her way here.. It was all black. ! could have been one of these .. i must look it up. great shots Tex. such a graceful little bird
The whistlers that hang out at your pond certainly have a lot of personality. Looks like the lone duck found quite the perch. Nice balance. Terrific photographs!
Zdjęcia stojącego ptaka na uschniętym drzewie są cudowne. Pozdrawiam cieplutko. Pictures of bird standing on a withered tree is wonderful. Regards warm.
Dearest Theresa, Wow, lovely duck and yes I adore the shots on the tree; they are well-balanced p;) And their body's color ordination is so sweet. I like the orange beak and the black-belly(*^_^*)
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*
Fun photos. Yeah, there's one independent thinker in most flocks, just like in a class of students and like you, I'm drawn to them. (Off to check out a few more of your posts. Fell off the blog wagon for a bit :)
Love the shot where the four are all standing still like they talked about it and decided if they stood like statues, you'd go away. And the little dare devil! What a character! Maybe he's Daffy Duck in disguise! Very pretty ducks!
I think I saw these when I was a kid living in Texas. We used to fish a lot, and there was one area we went to that I think had these, at certain times. They are so pretty, and unique!
