Fun and then some! That varmint seems to be in great shape. I wonder what you feed him/her??
I just got myself a squirrel proof feeder although we have no squirrels here. At east it will keep the possums out.

You started my morning off with a chuckle. Thank you!

You made me smile on a Monday morning. Thanks!

Lisa @ Two Bears Farm said...

Ha ha, look at that chunky belly too!

Pom Pom said...

Isn't it funny that they go for the "squirrel proof" challenges? I finally bought thistle seed instead of the song bird mix. I'm tired of the rascals overturning the feeders.

Pix Under the Oaks said...

Ilove his technique and form. I'd give him a 10!

Nancy Claeys said...

He sure is determined! :)

Lynne said...

I will give them badges for PERSISTENCE!

To you, it is nothing ordinary.

But it seems to be such an exciting moment to the squirrel.

Sandra said...

they always make me smile! i am wondering how they eat upside down. we watched one racing across the power lines yesterday at full warp speed and i wondered if they ever fall off....

Tanya Breese said...

haha they are so cute with their shenanigans!

Julia said...

Ha,ha,ha, a squirrel hanging out with the feeder. He has to find himself some more animated partner to hang out with.
Have a great week.

They make me smile when it happens to YOU! I laughed out loud at a couple of those, Tex. Thanks for the Monday humor. :-)

I love these little guys!

Those little burgers!! they can get into anything and everything that has food for birds!! My uncle had two feeders - one for the squirrels and one for the birds. They were on the deck outside of a big picture window where he could sit in his big overstuffed chair and watch. He was an electrician and wired the bird feeder so that he could "zap" it, if a squirrel got on. It would take just a couple of zaps & the squirrels learned very quickly which was the GOOD feeder and which one to stay away from. Every once in awhile a stray squirrel or young squirrels would venture onto the bird feeder and ZAP!! YES - a squirrel proof feeder!!

Sallie (FullTime-Life) said...

His acrobatics are so funny; well worth the price of admission (all that birdseed).

I think that little guy spends more time upside down than right side up! Love these!

Evelyn S. said...

Isn't it something how they hang on that feeder? The same thing happens here. I have two other feeders of different shapes, but the squirrels are upside-down most of the time.

Inger said...

I guess he's using his tail to keep his balance. What an acrobat!

I still say these little guys know how to live! We should all be so lucky to move about and have a day as a squirrel, but watch out for the dogs and puddy cats!

They are relentless, aren't they? That's probably a squirrel-proof feeder that he is determined to infiltrate. Makes for some cool shots though.

The athletic ability of these little animals is amazing. They will go to every possible avenue to get something to eat. Very good shots of this one.

Beautiful photos, I had to laugh at your comment :-)

val's alentejo blogspot.com said...

Unbelievable Tex,
Now seeing them so much in your garden. They remind me of the vervet monkeys that would get into our houses and steal fruit ..or anything they could get.
Are they agressive!

Sonya @ Under the Desert Sky said...

That's some squirrely (and hungry) acrobatics, there.

SweetMarie said...

Your beautiful pictures are proof that few creatures will work as hard for a meal as a squirrel.

The "splatted" views make me smile as does your post title. Sometimes post subjects just dry up, don't they? Luckily, something always comes along to jog the camera.

Maggid said...

I come from performing artist people.
Dad, musician - played for Barnum when Merle Evans was still the director (considered 'the good ole days)- Mom - acrobat -

Until now i never realized the flying people - (trapeze, especially - also high wire) learned their skills by watching squirrels.

mystery solved.

love & love,
