Pondside Sharing

Along the pond shore in late February.
A Great Egret on the left.


A Great Blue Heron on the right.

Morning Tex oh I just love coming here you start my day out perfectly. It is warm and sunny here and I was thinking about you as I watched my Eastern Bluebirds all lined on the fence just behind the house just waiting to be photographed I said to myself Tex can capture this perfectly and they are so beautiful imagine the art you could make. I did manage to catch a wing:) Hugs B

A Great Blue Heron is a bird that I've ALWAYS wanted to see!! I have never seen one in the wild. Beautiful captures!!

I'm so glad that egrets managed to survive the desire for their feathers. So many birds did not and are now not here for us to enjoy watching instead of wearing.

The egret appears to be sassing the heron, but the heron seems unperturbed. The geese apparently ignore their larger cousins.

With us are really very much blue herons. I even live near a large colony of blue heron.
The egret unfortunately I do not see that often. Before I meot to a nature reserve which is an hour away from my hometown. Nice to see these two in the same blog :-(

when my parents were alive they lived in South Florida across a canal from a wild life preserve .. the herons and other birds/animals that lived there were fabulous foto foder .. i miss that (and my folks)
