Whistlers on Wednesday 22

Just a couple of cuties sharing the birdbath used as a platform feeder - and a lot of photos of them.

Room for one more?

Please?

Hey, I'm cute, too!

Okay!

In that one picture when the ducks were still chatting it up at the watering hole, there came a different bird in the background, which is blurry so I am assuming it might've been a hawk. That one duck looked like he was gasping in horror. Made me giggle. Great pictures!!

What did you charge them for this photo shoot? I think you did a wonderful job.

Hi Tex, I love the way the birds show up right there at the ranch and you share the visits with us! Question for you next time you have a moment: You know how we have Weekend Reflections and SkyWatch Friday and Wednesday Whistlers, etc. Is there a site where one can see all the possible link sites? For example, I wanted to do a post on a collection and wonder if there is a site where collections are the focus? Thanks again for being my mentor on blogging and a loyal follower! :-) Have a great day, John

These two should go rent a room, I think. Of course not being a water fowl expert these could be two males or two females, not that I'm judging.

Those Whistlers sure like to pose for you. I overheard some of the staff at the dentist's office talking about some unusual ducks that had been there before. I was wondering if it was Whistlers.

Tree Hugger - Suzan said...

You and Gail of Louisiana make me so envious!! We have friends that are on their way back to Ohio that were in Venis, Florida for the winter and they said they had some whistlers that were blown there during Catrina. Said now they have a flock of about 70 ducks and they LOVE watching them in the evening when they circle around (flying) to collect everyone and then land somewhere for the night. I want to see some whistlers one day!! LOVELY pictures!!

I think it's the white circle around their dark eyes that give them such a sweet, innocent appearance. They're so cute.

The one closest to you was the guard--watching while the other one ate. Maybe the male. They're so sweet looking--and slightly goofy.

Gotta love those long legged tree ducks. I see that the Cowbird was not fazed by them. They are so brazen. I was trying to see if any of your readers noted the Cowbird. I didn't see that anyone did but I might have missed that. I hand raised a Cowbird ages ago. How crazy was that? I can't even remember who brought that nestling to me.

Hahaha Hahaha ... very funny to see how these small ducks or geese use the feeding dish or birdbath. Very nice to see and beautiful animals.
