Zebu Babies

Before spring is just a memory, I should show you some cuties in the neighborhood. I've shown you the miniature Zebu cattle before, but they had a few calves this spring that were near enough to the road for me to get some shots. These are from March.
The moms and dad

Just dad

A worried glance towards the calves resting along the fence line

Three cute babies

Sweetest little thing

This mom did not like me looking at the calves.

And the babies were quick to run to her protection.

The end.

Zebus always look so prehistoric to me so it's lovely to see the calves look so shiny and new!

Very interesting cattle... the bull's face is quite 'haunting'
Off to search out Zebu cattle facts... well maybe after I feed the sheep :)

Anything is cute when it's a baby, it seems. They are adorable and fun to watch. Have they changed much in a couple of months, I wonder? :-)

I must have missed your earlier post about these cattle. Either that, or my half-heimers is kicking in. Anyway, I looked them up and was surprised to find that raising miniature cattle is fairly common. Those calves are adorable. Apparently, the humps come with age because the calves' backs are very straight.

Oh the babies are adorable. They sure have their wild instinct to run for protection at the first sign of danger.

The bull looks like he's infected with the mange on the top back of his right leg from parasitic mites. It's not in the best of places either.

I had never seen this type of cattle before.

Thanks for sharing.

Hugs,
JB
