Those squirrels are certainly laid back.
You can never trust squirrels.
I think the duck is hatching out the feed.
Morning, love the post, made me smile....you really have such great wildlife around the home, keep sharing, Francine.
I'm rooting for the ducks!
Funny and beautiful are your photos from an unequal duel between two couples. Thanks for that, I was well amused.
It's only fair that the squirrels share the seed.. Especially with my cute Whistling Ducks..Cute photos. Thanks for linking up to Saturday's Critters.. Have a happy day.I wish you all the best in 2014, a HAPPY & Healthy New Year!
That first shot of both ducks eating is amazing, it really looks perfect:@)
Cute Squirrels!!! I love the whistler couple,....and the sunlight on the ducks is super...shows their beauty even more so.
I love how the Whistlers light up the spot, wherever they are. Beautiful birds.
The squirrels look so funny! :-)
Looks like those ducks aren't scaring that squirrel at all. Nice to see they can live in harmony. ;)
Oh I want that sunshine!!! And the squirrel. The sunshine and the squirrel. Please send me both. :)xo Catherine
Hahaha, what a cute series photos!
The photos are great! I love it when the ducks stand their ground for a place at the feast.
It seems like everybody likes to lay around in their food. Love those ducks! :-)
This reminds me of the buffet line for Christmas dinner, LOL!
Thanks for the entertainment. I love the respect everyone has for each other. It's kind of nice seeing green grass. We have so much snow here and more on the way. Hugs,JB
I'm grinning with that last shot. Embarrassing too!
Beautiful pictures, my favorite pictures 12 t / m 17.Really great the squirrel with whistlers.
Who says, ducks, squirrels, birds and our animals can't tell a mighty fine story? Entertainment!
BOL funny falling asleep on the food.Have a super Saturday.Best wishes Molly
The stretched out squirrel just cracks me up...Too funny!!
In the news, a SC woman stabbed her husband with a ceramic squirrel for not bringing home the beer.
I've never seen a whistling duck - they are a lovely looking couple!
That's the epitome of lazy! LOL! Maybe I should try that with my dinner. So we've got goofy ducks hissing at goofy tree rats...all that's missing is a skinny chicken and we'd have a circus. :-)
How ever did you know I needed this! Perfectly charming!
geweldig mooi zoals je het vastlegd ja maar midden in het eten in slaap vallen heeft ook zijn voordelen dan kan een ander er ook niet bij.
I love that squirrel and duck confrontation! Wish we had ducks here to chase the squirrels away from our bird feeder. Sometimes they pop down from the cranberry bush and totally clean out all the seed. :-( What is it about those ducks that always makes me smile. They're just so darned cute! Thanks for stopping in this morning and your nice thoughts.
Love all the critters ~ kissing and the goose yapping at the squirrel ~ Great action and nature shots ~ Wonderful! ~ Happy New Year to you ` carol, xxx
Love them hissing at that squirrel, and wow, that green grass is certainly inviting.
Wow those are some comfy squirrels! Great series T, love the one of both ducks and squirrels together...Cute.
Yup, they liked the buffet and saw off the squirrel. Very attractive ducks and good shots of them.
Oh, they talk.
Ha! Those whistlers took complete ownership!
Hello Theresa! I have really missed seeing your photos. It's the first time I have seen a Whistler showing some attitude. Great captures as always.I hope you have a very happy new year.:)
Those ducks are such a nice pair. In one of the pictures they look like they are making out:)
What a lazy squirrel, laying flat out with his face in the food!
Glad to see the ducks were not intimidated in the least. Don't mess with a duck!
I really love those ducks Tex!!!Gorgeous pictures!!How cute the squirrels looks!!Wish you a happy weekend!!Dimi...
The lazy squirrel fell asleep in the animal buffet. Bad form!Patient ducks.
Dearest Theresa,Falling asleep in the food and dreaming about HEAVEN! Hugs,Mariette
What fun shots for the day!! The squirrel is such a hoot and those ducks surely are telling him where he shouldn't be!!
hehe to that sprawling squirrel, perhaps he ate too much and was no longer able to hold himself up!!the images of the ducks, midway, with that beautiful light are just gorgeous. and the two that look like they are kissing, i liked that one!!
I'm surprised the squirrels will lay down and continue eating. The interplay with the ducks is funny and interesting to see.
ummmm and we are side by side again!! haha, what are the chances!!
Glad the squirrels shared the food even after being hissed at. A nap after lunch is always a good idea!
Definitely nice photos, like sharing food!
The ducks are not happy with the squirrels. Awesome shots, Theresa!
I love the duck that is two but appears one with two heads. Also, the one where they appear to be kissing. I wish you would send them over and get rid of my squirrels. They are cute but destructive too.
You have quite a collection of critters enjoying the goodies here, T...:)JP
Oh my- I needed a good dose of cuteness this morning, and your whistlers never let me down. Have a great weekend!
Brilliant squirrels and the whistlers, you can't beat 'em.
Theresa, this is nature in glory for sure, I cannot imagine seeing that in my back lawn. Smile time, as the story unfolds. Cheers, Jean
Love the warning hiss and how NOT intimidated the squirrels were by it.
I love how squirrels will make themselves at home. It is kinda cute how they do it. But I know they can be pesky as well. Good thing the BBWD have some attitude to shoe them off:)
Love the squirrel shots!
Those squirrels look very relaxed all stretched out like that.Good to see that the ducks won this round.
Great photos! Squirrels crack me up. They can be creative acrobats, or like they are here. And that is one handsome Whistling Duck couple!
Farmyard "pecking order" in action.Nice bunch of pictures!
I wish ground squirrels were not so destructive .... I have them by the hundreds I think .... if it ever rains my front pasture may collapse they have so many holes and tunnels in it.
Persistence and patience wins the day. Plainly I need some of those ducks to guard my feeders....:)
Love how those ducks hiss at the squirrels. That's pretty funny.
I thought they might flap their wings to get the squirrels to skedaddle , but they hissed. Too funny. I guess it worked. Nice set!
Hey wait a minute the squirrels were there first. You should put signs up "no hissing allowed". LOL
The squirrels did not seem to care one little bit
So cute they are! I love squirrels.
what an adorable series of photos!
Love this, and your commentary. :)
I wonder if the squirrels flattening themselves out in the food is their form of camoflage. Didn't work if it was! Those whistlers are just beautiful critters, aren't they. Cheers and Happy New Year, TexJo, Stella and Zkhat
Look at that Whistler , telling the squirrel off.. that is a great shot Tex.I do love those ducks.. Do they live down near your pond.!They are pretty clever ducks. The squirrel is rubbing and enjoying that bird seed. Do they hibernate where you are.!
Gorgeous photos !They are so cuteGreetings
Nice to see some harmony at the feeding place on the ground. I didn't know there was a whistling duck, pretty looking bird.
Kaczuszki dla wszystkich wystarczy, nie denerwujcie się na wiewiórki :))).Ducks for all just not get nervous squirrel :))).
So everyBODY got along.. :) I wouldn't want to mess with the Whistlers, I think they could let you know who's boss.
Great shots!!! I wish our birds would run the squirrels away.
Those squirrels made me laugh so hard!!!!
This I find truly amazing lol .... The ducks and the flattened squirrels. Really beautiful to see :-)

Those photos of the ducks warning the squirrels are a hoot, they look pissed!
What a great series of photos, Tex. How I love the whistler hissing at the squirrels. Wonderful captures.

Love the animal stories. ;)
Great shots!! Made me laugh just thinking about the whole bird feeder scene...
Comical characters of Summer!
LOL! I've never seen such relaxed squirrels. What do you put in their feed? Great batch of pics of the ducks!
Looks like the duck is telling the squirrel "how the cow ate the cabbage". Remember that old saying?
What a great series of photos :)
Many need a sight of summer. These are so funny. Your talented captures amaze me.
Nice to see everyone sharing!
hahhhaaa....I just LOVE these photos. So so cute.hugs, bj
First time I've seen one of these sleeping! They're comfortable and safe on the RunARound!
Full tummies sometimes causes one to fall asleep!! Cute, cute pics!!
..and there was enough for everyone; ducks become a bit selfish sometimes....
Very laid back Squirrels! Love the onw with the duck telling the Squirrel to 'GET OUT'! MB
You take such amazing pictures, T!
You always see good story in your photos.
I have loved ducks since I was a little girl. My daddy would walk me to Lake Worth to feed them, and I would be so excited. Now, I get to relive those happy memories through your such pictures. They are wonderful...as are the ones of the squirrels. Those tails are IMPRESSIVE.
I was scratching my head looking at the squirrel and wondering what looked so familiar, and then I realized I look just like that squirrel after overeating at the Country Kitchen Buffet.
I'm glad that no squirrel was hurt by a sweet whistler in the making of this series of photos... ;-)!!
All they need is a TV with a football game playing.
Sometimes you just need to hiss at those lazy squirrels.....just sayin'! xo

Alone, each is wonderful, but then together, Wow! How I love those squirrels sprawled out! And how I love those colorful Whistlers. Once again, you've shown/told us a great story!
Whistlers 2, Squirrels 0This is hilarious. The photos played the face off very well.
The lazy squirrels laying on the ground eating the corn!! funny :-)
Beautiful Pictures!Best friends or??
The ducks are so cute :) The squirrels are really big.. the ones in asia are much smaller.
What drama in your yard! I've never seen squirrels stretching out like that. I guess the duck did not like it. Great captures of the story!
Love the hissing and the lazy squirrels! You don't know how strange green looks to me right now--LOL!
Wonderful photos!! Love the way the squirrel is laying down to feed :D
Fearless creatures. I've now trapped and relocated 11 squirrels. I haven't seen one in three weeks, but living in the middle of a pine forest, I know they will return.
How you have me longing for warmer days and longer days.
Looks like the buffet is big enough for all comers. The whistler hiss photo is too funny.
Too Funny!! the squirrel seems to be saying - "All mine!!" and the whistlers want it too!! Such vivid colors in these two whistlers!!
Falling asleep in the food--too cute. Love those squirrels on their bellies. Great duck poses. I also like revisiting summer!
