Another Dose of Bubba Squirrel

Bubba, you can hardly bend over!

And you don't even have any pants you can unbutton!

You look like you're going to hurl (throw up).

Oh, you're just eating some more.

You are one rotund rodent!

Ground squirrel? Ground hog?

Wow! You can still scamper!

That tree makes your butt look not-so-big!

Slightly blurred, but what a face!

Right back to eating.

Perhaps Bubba is preparing for next year's winter! :)

I have a lot of squirrels but mine are all Gray Squirrels. This one you have is "probably"a Red Squirrel. It isn't a Fox Squirrel because it does not have the "foxy" tail. Cute, porkey, thing though.

Bubba looks well-nourished, that's a fact!

Bubba, is looking well fed. Loved the funny captions! Thank you for linking up to Saturday's Critters! Have a happy weekend!

Something makes me think he's going to survive the winter--that is if he can still move. :-)

OK the "this tree makes your butt look fat..." really funny! He "has a cute face" I wonder if he "has a nice personality?"

I so love Red Fox Squirrels and this one certainly is a healthy one, all ready for Winter. I can imagine right now their musk smell, and fondly remember those that I rehabbed and released, such a gentle creature~

I enjoyed smiling at the porker, too! He's definitely Texas sized. :-)

What a fat little squirrel you have here. As you can see in my post today, the squirrels at my house have constant competition at the bird feeder.

You gotta love them...until they start bullying the birds around the feeder.

Linda at To Behold The Beauty said...

Frankly, I'm sensitive to those remarks about not being able to bend over. :)

There for a minute, I wasn't sure Bubba was going to make it up the tree. I'm sure he's not eating all that. He's storing it in his chubby little cheeks and hiding it for later.

HOOTIN ANNI said...

Oh my gosh...must be on steroids. But such a darling creature.

Such a cute and enjoyable post :-)

I don't think squirrels will stop eating at all...

Brian King said...

LOL! Perhaps he is more in the ground hog category! He could probably do some extra scampering. A neighborhood cat that I've been having problems with killed one of my squirrels yesterday and took it over the fence.

i just showed all of these to Bob and we both love the rotund rodent name. those cheeks puffed out are adorable, little hoglet.. in the slightly blurred he looks like he is smiling

i wonder what bubba thinks of his name? cutie. a little chunky ... but looks are not everything. ( :

Bubba is the perfect name for that "rotund rodent!"

Kathy said...

Could Bubba be a Barbara expecting some new additions?

don said...

He makes a great model to shoot. I like all the contortions and expressions you took in your shots. Does Bubba ever hide nuts by burying them for later? Ours run out in the grassy areas and dig a hole and carefully tamp a nut into the hole. Crows sit up on a low branch and take all this in, then swoop down a retrieve the nut for themselves. They are so smart.

The captions made me laugh. I think Bubba is a ground "hog" the way he eats. He really is getting fat!

Bubba clearly needs an intervention! I bet he can hardly climb the tree:)

Paula said...

Bubba seems to be hogging the seed from the birds.

KB Bear said...

Mr. Bubba may be getting too fat for his own good. We had a rabbit who was getting very fat and happy under our birdfeeders, and then a hawk got him. I hope that doesn't happen to Bubba.

Dearest Theresa,
Haha, why you keep this 24/7 all you can eat restaurant for Bubba?! Can't blame him...

Sumo Squirrel, reminds me of the big guy on Hawaii Five-0, Ha ha!

My mother once put out a good sized chunk of stale pound cake for the birds. A squirrel grabbed the whole thing and tried to run up the tree. Alas the pound cake was too big to climb with and he had to fend off the other squirrels on the ground. Glutton!

What kind of squirrel is he?

We have gray & red squirrels (as you probably had in WI?) Sometimes we have black squirrels too, which are a special treat for us to see.

Bubba is the biggest squirrel I've ever seen. Love those puffy cheeks!

Debbie said...

you sure do get a lot of comments ;)

bubba needs a diet!! but fat is better then skinny. when you skinny you have lot's of wrinkles!!

Lynda said...

Do you know it's a male for sure? Could it be a pregnant female or do they have the babies in the spring and summer? It definitely has some insulation for the winter. When we get very cold weather and storms and I happen to spot one of their nests at the top of a tree, it makes me glad I wasn't born a squirrel!
