No doubt you live where the birds really enjoy. You share some of the best shots of them.
Even bird colours fade in winter. Actually, I wasn't sure they would down your way.

They are so cute and so tiny -- we have some that look very much like these, but I'm not sure what they are goldfinches.
I like your shots of these traveling birds in this "moving" feathers. I don't know how far south they go from here.
That's supposed to read -- I'm not sure that they are goldfinches -- Obviously, I haven't been up long enough to type correctly!!
Nice! There haven't been as many goldfinches here this winter. Very few actually. No Red-bellied Woodpeckers, either.
Oh My, until this moment i thought I'd never seen these . . BUT, your photo and explanation lets me know I've seen them "traveling through . . . Cool! Thank you . . I suppose you already KNOW how i LOVE your sharing . . hm?
Very pretty! Say hello to them from me. I'll see them in the summertime.

Great shots...great info!
I didn't know they changed for the seasons, sweet photos!
Great description of their winter attire. :) I've been seeing these guys at my favorite park, but they haven't made it to my back yard yet. They're so precious.
I love those shots. They are very companionable birds. They stay around here waiting for sunflower seeds.
Such happy little birds no matter their coloring
Aww, I love those little American Goldfinches and the cheery songs they make. What pretty pictures at the birdbath.Have a good week.Hugs,JB
Wide off-season range for these little sweeties as they've been hanging around here too.
Traveling khakis....I love that. It so fits.
Beautiful birds the goldfinches Tex!!Great pictures!!Dimi...
Hi Tex. I just emailed my comment to you because the Publish window kept bringing up a window that says "No Service Available". But this time it came up - Anyway, love the photos. We used to get a ton of Goldfinches in the summers here, but now if we get a half-dozen we're lucky.
These little birds are still so pretty. My only daily visitor is the Gray Jay which looks like a little old man in a fluffy overcoat. (which it needs...)
Traveling khakis, love that visual!
They certainly know the right place to visit.
The look like a happy bunch!MersadMersad Donko Photography
All happy together, and quite a bit larger than the wee one that was blown. . maybe?? into our bird bath. Great shot, and change in colours with the season, how grand is nature. Could it be called " Courtship yellow"? Cheers from Jean
I can still see a hint of yellow in their traveling suits!
Two goldfinches were at my feeder in early Nov. and I couldn't identify them!We don't see the winter color. These two birds were also singles and i'm used to seeing flocks. at least , that's my excuse.
What a thrill to see these little gems, thanks, Francine.
Even birds gossip around the water cooler.
khakis,hahahahahahah I love that description.
Shucks, I think my comment was eaten up! Sweetness, at the bird's water-cooler this morning in your world and mine. Of course I had to make a quick emergency water stop as finally my birds came back today in search of their water stop. They all need their water!
Te ptaszki to trochę tak jak nasza zięba:)
I learned something. I had no idea they changed color like that.
I didn't know they changed colors. It looks like they're discussing their travel plans. :-)
They are beautiful, sluppering away.
Such practical little birds wearing their travel clothes.
They're actually very pretty in their traveling attire, but I sure do love their bright yellow outfits.
Cute little birds!
Dearest Theresa,You're lucky for having American Goldfinches! I've bought a huge bag of thistle seed for them as they usually show up in flocks but not yet... Do you feed them also thistle (niger) seeds?Hugs,MariettePS Love the expression 'traveling khakis'

You can see their summer suits hiding under their chins.Lindahttp://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com
Adorable little Goldfinches! Have you heard them sing? I'm in love with birds and singing ones like them are amazing! Great photographs!
We still have some goldfinches hanging around here and I'll bet they wish they had flown down your way after the cold temps of last weekend! I need to refill the feeder, they've about cleaned it out.
You must admit their fall suits are pretty snappy, tan dark brown with white. Lookin'good!Cheers,Jo, Stella and Zkhat
Your place looks like it is always ready to welcome travelers.
Is there a changing room where this happens? Just kidding.
Such adorable little birds. We have them here year-round.
Those are some sweet traveling khakis they wear!
I just love your knowledge of birds.:)
Traveling khaki's, that is too cute! And so are they & you obviously have an affection for them in either outfit! Me too!
I'm ready for the finches to start wearing their 'summer clothes' and so am I! :-)

They are so cute and I didn't know that their color changes!
They look quite appreciative of the "watering hole"! Nice happy picture with the sunny weather.

The pause that refreshes. - Margy
Oh, what a lovely way to describe their winter colors.
Aren't they sweet? We have some, too.
They are still wearing their bright yellow suits here in CA! Nicely photographed.
Tell them to hold off from going any further north Tex-Wis; we are getting weird weather up here...I hate to see what 66 mph wind would do to a tiny flock like that :S
So, so darn cute!
I had no idea that these guys changed colors.Nice photos of them!
Awww.. They look so cute at the watering hole..
