A Touch of Spring

For those of you hungry for the release of winter's grip, a few February photos from the cell phone.

Okay, so these first four photos are from LAST February, but I love this view up the pond.

Thelma (white dog) walks behind the house

A few Whistling Ducks perch on the limb balanced across old tree stumps.

And off they go!
The pastures are showing some green these days.
The yard, too.
And I think I see some knobby buds trying to form on the oak tree tips.
Numerous skeins of geese have been winging north the past few weeks.
And, finally, some Spring Beauties blooming in the yard.
Spring is coming, I promise! :)

Lovely cell shots Tex! CH and I saw herds of geese flying North yesterday on our way home from lunch. I always love a shot of a farm pond, add Whistlers and you have extra charm! Love those Oaks. Ours have some fat buds but we NEED some rain!!!!

Dearest Theresa,
Lovely photos of spring developing. We will know in two days... But we already have been BLESSED as our home survived the severe tornado on Friday morning, in which 56 homes got damaged and lots of trees down in our subdivision.
Hugs to you,
Mariette

I loved the third shot, the one with the ducks on the limb and their reflections. The first tree in the set of current photos is really neat, too. And the geese! My word, that's a fantastic shot of the geese! We don't have grass yet. It's either still hidden under a layer of snow or it's mud. So it's nice to see that spring is arriving somewhere!

Aah, Spring!
Our snow is now hip-deep in unpacked areas. Snowbanks are so high it's hazardous trying to pull out of driveways or roads or streets in town, we can't see over or around the snowbanks. Our driveway is growing tunnel like.. running out of places to push the snow!
We had company yesterday for our birthday kid this week, and I thought to myself that I bet they can't tell when our driveway makes a big loop, it's going around a POND.. You'd never know it's under there somewhere! :)
How wonderful to look over your pond, and green, and flowers!

These are incredible pics that you snapped with your cell phone.I like the huge lone tree.

Spring is arriving in my yard, too. The elbow bush has new young leaves and before long it'll be blooming. Produces dark blue berries that the birds love in late April-early May.
