I think they must see you coming with your camera and pose, every time! :)
Just think, if they hang around long enough, their bills will match the orange barrier.
I love that he's standing on the point of the fence:@)
They do look content to be there. Nice photos.
That is some impressive balance :)
LOL the first duck and it's feet look so comical. Great shots. Have a tremendous Thursday.Best wishes Molly
these two are hanging on by a feather. winter does make brain cells move slower. I know.
How do they do that?
Your commentary is priceless. :)The shot of Duck #2 is really nice, showing off those great colors in his feathers.
They stay so busy, those whistlers!
Lol!!!Oh,how cute the whistler duck looks Tex!!!Great shots!!I love those ducks!!!!Dimi...

Those ducks have pretty good balance!!
Airhead is my fave.
Whistlers are amazingly acrobatic with those webbed feet. Love the pictures! :-)
Duck 1 is so cute!
Grippers in style . . .
your ducks are just so talented.....
Dearest Theresa;Haha, the first whistler has a great balance sense to stand like that:-) I laughed the way you call them p;) Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to my American photographer friend, xoxo Miyako*
Your fine feathered friends really do love you and your homeplace. La-La-La...that is the way we all feel at times. Are these some of the grown up babies returning for some more fun and games at the Run Around Ranch?
La la la, I love them!Good Morning Tex!
Ha! You have the best kind of entertainment: It's great, and doesn't cost a thing - well, maybe some mixed bird seed.
Walking on a thin line.....from In Pursuit's Thin Line...They are worth their weight in gold for the enjoyment they provide.
Who could look at those birds and not smile!
I don't think I've ever seen a duck on a fence, either. You have a strange flock of duckies in your neck of the woods! Lovely pictures...they are so full of life and humor.
There is just something comical about an acrobatic duck. They are like the John Belluci of the animal world.
hij heeft daar wel een mooi overzicht.
Practicing for the circus.
):- Tex..these Whistlers are incredible.Do they arrive at a certain time of the day.. or are there all the time. The top one, sure knows how to stand on a steel pipe. la la la ..
Oh my gosh- too funny this morning...I sure do like to see these cute guys.. hey your pond is looking great! I sure hope our drought is over!
Oh, I love your duck. This time I see a duck acrobat. Your photos are beautiful. I send greetings. Lucia
Don't know how you do it, but you do it great! :)
They just know your putting their pictures on your blog, show offs, Francine.
Duck #1- Poor feet on that fence. But if it hurt - he could move!!Too funny!
Too cute, love how that first one is perched on the fence!
Great shots. The last picture is my favorite.
Did the rest of their family take off and move somewhere else? Maybe they are BOTH worried!Cheers,Jo

Hi Y'all!Just take a minute to catch up with y'all and all the beautiful photos. Wish we had a Whistler here; they are so handsome.Y'all come by now,Hawk aka BrownDog
You and the whistlers always make me smile.
The whistler looks so pert and self assured. Excellent capture of their color with details I like.
Why does the whistler choose to stand on the fence post? Because he can.
Beautiful poser or two.
Very cute post!! :)
Such cute photos! I really envy how they can stand on a fence like that, such a great balancing act. How do they do that? If I tried I'd be falling out of my shoes and landing in your pond!
Funny! Those silly ducks.
That whistler is the king (or queen) of balance!
These are really lovely!
a green mallard quacked at me this morning. I hadn't seen it in my path on my way to the door of the building where I work. WHY the duck was there, I don't know... but it isn't normal. He gave me an angry glare and flapped his wings and was all defensive, as if I was on the offensive. "No no Donald Duck, I'm not going to do anything to you. I'm just going to work. You wanna go for me?" I said in a very low voice. It stopped flapping its wings and the angry glare was replaced with a wary look. Oh well, I tried.
These are great shots - super :-)
tight rope act. so talented!
I love these guys!
Ha! Your captions are always so dang good!
You come up with some good stories to go along with photos.

Amazing how their bg feet can balance on such a small surface!!!!...:)JP
These are fantastic photos. Raf and I are birders, and we love whistlers!
Cute! Can I borrow a few Whistler's? There's not much action going on down by my pond. 'Course it might have something to do with the fact that it's been frozen over most of the winter! :)
Great Picture!I love their feet. Like modern boots in pink
Now that is excellent balance!
Totally funny and I do think that is what they were saying. You have become very good at understanding duck. :)

Superb capture! That’s wonderful for their feet to balance
LOL It looks like a perfect landing, though, I'll give it a 10.
It grips well to the fence ;)
They are so funny with their pink feet!
Lol ..... it remains a very nice duck. He stands there on that beautiful pole lol ....
I really like the one whistling duck on the fence. I can see the duck better when it is the "lone duck." These pics are very good.
Great balancing act!~Lindy
