Beautiful!!! Your horse in the woods reminds me of a Bev Doolittle work.

Lynn said...

such beautiful shot, did they know each other was in such close proximity I wonder, love the shades they all work so well together.

messymimi said...

They both look content to just be "doing their own thing."

Morning, so peaceful looking, love the both in the picture, horse and Huron, Francine.

They do look busy, doing their own thing. Always enjoy seeing Gem and the Heron is a beauty. Great shots. Thank you for linking up to Saturday's Critters. Have a happy weekend!

Exceptional images . . . the second one tells their separateness, yet a tolerance . . . wow, did you ever have your camera set at the right time and place!

Dearest Theresa;
Oh, Yes♪ "(be)tween" tree screen and is that a play on words with "twin"? So sorry if I was wrong.
How wonderful your sweet Gemilyn in the picture with Heron♡♡♡ It is amazing the wild bird is close to Gem. The birds in the river (near my house) never stay posing for me; they always fly away hearing the sound of the car door closed or sensing me getting close (^^;)

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to my American photographer friend, xoxo Miyako*

What a quiet juxtaposition, each going about their world. What wonderful instincts you have to see and capture this. Gemilyn...lovely name...I only knew her by Gem.

Definitely beauty fore and aft! When herons stand like that, I think they look like old men that are hunched up in the cold with their long coats.

Montanagirl said...

Co-habitating! It's the perfect shot, and a nice catch.

Cranberry Morning said...

I just read the first comment again. Do we know they aren't aware of each other's presence, or are they simply not natural enemies and feel no threat from one another? Both are such beautiful creatures!

Love the colors in these photos, as well as the main subjects. Not often you see a horse and a heron in the same shot. (Oh, my fingers...they typed "snot." Sure glad I spotted it before I slicked "Publish.")

Nancy said...

A perfect shot of two doing their individual thing.....

Lynda said...

What a bonus shot getting the two of them together in one picture. Sometimes nature can "tolerate" each other - - - - like the dog who has adopted us and our cats.

Dearest Theresa,
How Gemilyn and this Great Blue Heron know they have nothing to fear from each other! Great photo.
Happy weekend to you.

Hi Theresa, Two beautiful animals in one picture! I sure do enjoy the Great Blue Herons. I sometimes think with fondness about ol' Hank and hope he is still thriving up at the little pond in Crossville, TN where I used to live. Have a super good Sunday tomorrow!

Lovely scene! The second shot would make a great painting, sort of a fairy tale illustration. Heck, add a horn and you've got a white unicorn!

Hi Theresa, great description that fits these beautiful shots.

You'd wonder if either one of them knew the other was there?

By the way, it looks like I haven't been to your blog since early last week! I don't know where my time went but I'm catching up now and will try not to leave too many comments!
