Ravens are actually beautiful, majestic birds. Great series of photographs. Greetings from far away Polish. Lucia
It was to be crows are beautiful birds. Sorry.Lucia
And not to proud to pose.
They do have character, cute shots! Happy Sunday!
I also like birds because they are so smart! Pretty feathers on this one.

"One Crow Sorrow, Two Crows Joy"It looks like joy wins here.
Beautiful smart birds, and good captures.:)
Love Crows, fantastic pictures of them, Francine.
Yep, they are very intelligent. A local crow has trained my husband to feed him peanuts. I bet I can't train my husband to feed ME peanuts.
Fabulous shots! We once saw a documentary showing how Crows grieve the loss of one of their own, and gathered around him or her. One group moved the dead Crow out of harms way. It was an amazing documentary about an amazingly clever and sensitive bird.
...as long as they're not pulling up my corn seedlings.
I recently finished a wonderful book, "MInk River" that had a crow in it who had been taught to speak by a nun and knew all the Psalms. I loved it.
Crows are one of the more intelligent of birds. xo Laura
You captured their personality perfectly!
We all look more elegant dressed in black...Just wish it made me smarter :)
Great photo close ups . . . I liked Camera Girl's comment!
Hello my dears...
they are sure strutting their stuff for the camera... i am going to research now, black birds, ravens and crows..
We love crows. We had two in our park that always came up to us for food when it was really cold. They followed us for years and always knew it was us. Have a serene Sunday and enjoy some big easy today.Best wishes Molly
I am back from google, crows, ravens, blackbirds and rooks are all black but are four different birds. who knewbob and i were arguing last week, there were thousands of black birds flying over the house and he said they were crows i said black birds. who knows we don't
Beautiful shots - they are very sleek!
I've missed your blog this week because of internet issues, but its been great to catch up on what I've missed--You always capture the best crow photos, and whistler, and the one yesterday is probably a favorite! Enjoy your Sunday!!
I do hate to see crows stealing eggs (or young) from the nests of other birds; but, other than that, I can appreciate their size, beauty, and cleverness. And comicalness, if that's a word. You got some great shots. I like the one where you were able to get front and back views in the same photo.
There used to be a crow at the cottage who mimicked something like a sound from construction. He's long gone now though, and we just have the regular cawing.
Amazing birds. They've got more intelligence than a lot of people. :-)
I read a book last year which contained a chapter on crows. They are extremely intelligent animals. They actually use tools (small rocks) to open seeds and nuts, and they actually mourn their dead. Isn't that amazing?
Nie są piekne kolorowe, ale są za to mądre. Pozdrawiam. There are beautiful color, but are not wise. Yours.
They are smart and energetic, and we have some around here. They know us, and if you listen closely, you can tell the difference between their calls depending on which person walks out of the door.
Nice, substantial birds! I was just thinking this morning that my all time favorite Super Bowl commercial was the Nissan Dirty Bird one-too funny:@)
I agree! When I was a child, we had a friendly crow that would perch on our deck. He came again and again (for cat food, I think). I've always liked crows more than magpies.
ze zijn prachtig en weten heel goed wat ze willen.
Proud bird, aren't they? Great shots!
Fantastic shots Tex!!!The crows are cute birds!!Dimi...
They look so smart when they cock their head like that!
Nice photos! I see Crows around in the country, but they never come into town. I've watched several TV specials on them, and they are truly a very intelligent and family oriented bird.
Nice pictures. You have ccaptured it perfectly
They are such smart birds and said to be a messenger .
uummmmm, is there anything with wings, that stands still for pictures, that we don't love??happy sunday t!!
Their raucous cawing can be amusing sometimes. Smart birds.
I had to stop by and say hello, I also signed up to follow your blog. I'm also from Wis (La Crosse area) and since we live in an RV we now call Livingston TX home - so I'm somewhat a TexWis girl myself. Your profile really resonated with me as I sit here barefoot and braless typing to you. I especially liked your description of being an extroverted introvert - that described me to a "T". Nice to meet you and I look forward to reading your blogs.
Beautiful thieves, they steal my pecans every year!
I think crows are fascinating. Love these shots.
Lovely black crows! Here they are grey.
I normally am not a fan of crows, but these pictures show a beautiful bird.I guess they are one of God's creations as well. :)
Yes they do!! They are quite clever.
They are an entertaining bird to watch and see just how they go about doing what they do.
You are right, those crows are intelligent. My friend had a pet crow who followed him to school when we were kids. We walked a mile to school but the crow flew... lol.Great shots.HugsJB
The black bird likes to dominate, often occupies an area and chases small birdsGreetings
they are beautiful and BIG! Each time I spot one, I think Wow that's a big bird...lolBlessings,Gert
Beautiful series of photos of the crow.Photo 4 and 6 are my favorite.
We have a lot of those here and it doesn't make the other birds and squirrels very happy!! But they are handsome birds!
as they mature and get larger the black of their feathers becomes more sheen. they are smarter than people give them credit. they have a plan in their social and community existence.now, what kind of crow are these?
Really great close ups.
you can see exactly what it crows model are as if on a catwalk :-))regards Frank
Crows are so smart and suspicious of everything around them. This is a great collection of their images.
Great shots of the crows! Nice series!
They sure do have brains, and lately they've been my favorite backyard helpers! They love picking up my frozen doggie doo-doo clumps, and it appears to be a treat they enjoy fighting over!
love the crows but haven't seen any around lately.
You got some real nice pictures of these characters!
I don't think I've ever seen a crow around these parts although I'm sure they're somewhere. :)
You caught some great shots of these beauties! I saw a lovely crow lifting in flight the other day. Didn't have my camera, of course. :-)But I'll remember his beauty.
Great shots of a smart bird. Busy ones aren't they?!
Yes, stunning and beautiful photos of crows!
They are so beautiful...but rather noisy when the pecans are ready here.
When I see crows, I always think of my old Carolina Aunt that had a pet crow. She loved that bird! Was always talking about how smart he was.
A crow treat. They are both brainy and beautiful. Here we only have their bigger relatives, the ravens and the same goes for them.
Great close ups! I cried when I saw a hawk with one. :( food chain, but still.
I love crows and their cousins, the ravens.
Yes, I think it's their brains that give them the personality. They're fun to watch.
Great shots of these black beauties! Not a bird I see often.
Great shots! One of my favorite birds!
Podobny do naszego kruka:)
In two of your shots, they look as tho they are posing for you. They are okay in their place.
they are handsome fellows.
They are very handsome and clever!...:)JP
I wonder what they are thinking? I love watching the crows.
These black birds - ravens - crows - are brilliant birds. They do everything in "gangs" and are not very nice to the birds around here. I've even seen them gang up on a hawk. So loud!! They scare off the song birds!!
I always love seeing your crows and our ravens too! Hubby and I were just commenting today that we haven't noticed them around quite as much since we got the outdoor cats, even though the ravens are bigger than the cats! LOL!!
I saw two of them today flying above me in the fog we had. They are really big. Thanks for your answer...Amazing how many visitors you have.Majsan//
He appears to be doing a little dance for the camera. :)
Wonderful shots of these guys, Tex!
Crows are so beautiful. I just love that they are dressed in black!
Well captured, but I do not like crows or grackles. Nope.
No crows here. Had them in Nebraska and boy are they smart and good thieves too!! Once checked a nest and couldn't believe the loot they had collected!!
Just strutting around like they owned the place.
Quoth TexWisGirl, nevermore....
These are great poses with the green and black contrasting colors. We have fish crows; I hear them all the time, but haven't shot one yet.
Blacker then black, we have lots of those birds here too at times.
Such wonderful captures...feel like they are looking you right in the eye as you take the photos.
Ms. T?---these are phenomenal!!!
I agree! LOVE these shots!
I always wanted a baby crow or raven to hand raise. My cousin had a raven and it was amazing to watch her interact with it. They really are smart birds.
They like to pose too!
What you say about crows is true , but here they are baby bird killers. They rob thousands of nests.
T, what beautiful birds!
Excelentes fotografias de belos pássaros....Cumprimentos
Absolutely amazing! I love these birds and your photos are fantastic! You captured them in a wonderful way!
One of my favorite birds!
Great photos of those very *black* crows! We have ravens here (and an occasional crow)... but I agree - they are so smart!
Oh my, such beautiful shots!
They are smart . Hey look it is our George and Margaret visiting you lol Lots of people get Crows and Ravens mixed up they are totally different looking in the size and beaks lol ! Cute photos . Have a good day !
they do have lot's of personality...great shots...stay warm...
These are great!!! I love crows, the original best dressed.
Not many people like crows, but those are quite good looking.
Dearest Theresa,Crows make great pets too! Love your shots of Mr. Handsome.Hugs,Mariette
And they are strong. Gorgeous photos.
Great close up shots.
It's Heckle and Jeckle!
Oh yes they are beautiful! :D
yes, they're cute, that's for sure!
I've not heard of crows being called cute before. But they are regal.
Black is beautiful!
Great birds! They really are smart!Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
You sure captured those quirky bird's personalities.
You've captured these very well, great photos
Hi Y'all!Just catchin' up with y'all. We have lots of crows but seem to have more ravens than crows. Those are amazing close ups of those mischievous birds. Y'all come by now,Hawk aka BrownDog
I don't think I have ever heard anybody refer to crows as cute before.
Crows are cool and fun and great to watch. Smart too. MB
Great shots, they look so healthy!
Wow! You've done a fantastic job photographing these crows. I didn't know they were so beautiful. You are a great photographer. I've tried to take photos of crows and they are too quick for me. This is a super posting.
They are handsome fellas!
Love that combination of brains and beauty! Great captures.
They also trust you -- they have a good judgement of character.
I agree. I find them fascinating. Nice capture.
Great shots- he sure is eyeballing you!
Crows always strike me as walking round with their hands behind their backs. We get a lot of jackdaws round here - awful creatures; I'm contemplating a cull!
I got excited when I saw you were putting up crow pics! I have always loved them. We have a few who show up every now and then around the garages and I always am happy to see them visit here. :)
We have so many crows. Great photos!
Very black ... It seems they do not like the camera :((
I always like watching corvids. Such intelligent birds.
It's a black thing--isn't it?
I do think Crows have attitude. Sometimes its funny. Sometimes its cute. And sometimes its downright mean. It depends on how their day is going. They like to steal the squirrel's savings and that annoys me, but mostly, they're good around here. Theys stomp, they hop on one leg, they fly around and peck at our trash bags if we dare leave any showing in the bin.
Oh, what spectacular photos! I've not always been a fan of crows (I think any fan of the author Garth Nix will be wary of crows!) but these birds are really beautiful.
"Be sure to get my best side!" :-D~Lindy
I love crows. And you're so right.. they're very clever creatures.
They are quite cunning too! Great photos.
Love your captures: Caaa Caaa!
