sweet little birds and lucky to have your feeders so abundant
Awwww, precious. GOLD is my favorite mineral by the way. lol
Hi Y'all!Playin' catch up. The Humans have been on the go all week and they take the computer...I get almost zero time on it when they are working. We only see the gold finches when they migrate through here. When my Humans lived on the Chesapeake Bay they used to see them during their nesting season. They are so colorful in their breeding plumage.Y'all come by now,Hawk aka BrownDog
these are so cute and i love the one with his face shoved deep in the seed hole.. yum yum...
Cute series on the Goldfinch! They are sweeties! Happy Sunday!
These are the prettiest little birds. Love their cheeriness!
Beautiful photoes of them! Nice birdfeeder :-)
Pretty little things, and they do look hungry!
I just bought a new feeder and put it on my porch this time. Hopefully I can attract something besides the cowbirds with it. Your finches are such pretty little birds, They look happy to find a free meal.
Sorry about the repeated comment. I think my computer has the hic-cups this morning.
I have such a fondness for goldfinches. Going all the way back to childhood!
Our Goldies love thistle seeds as well. I wonder whether yours are just as argumentative.
That's a lot of activity.Greetings,Filip
I see Atticus and Jim and Scout. But, no mockingbirds. ;)
They look like they are hanging out at the apartment complex :)
Wonderful captures!! Such a pretty little bird!!
They are my state bird, and I love the pretty color of them when they are breeding. Looks like they are getting there, in your pictures anyway. :-)
Nice pictures.. cheers!!!
Lovely series... enjoy :)
If I were a bird, I would hang around at your place for as long as I could.
They are so beautiful. It always thrills my soul to see them, but they sure are hard to photograph (without feeders). Love the way they're keeping their eyes on you while they enjoy the food you've put out for them.
It's nice to see them in their mating finery!
I love finches!
Haha! So perky!
I have to admit I can't wait to see Goldfinch here in my garden again ! The snow has finally gotten to me ~ I AM finally wanting Winter gone lolThanks for sharing these lovely little birds Tex.
Goldfinches around here are going to be so filled up with fiber they might not be able to fly . . .
I brought Bud in here with me just now to show him the feeders he must get and hang for me somewhere!! Hopefully this'll attract them to our yard, maybe?
Lovely bird and so great shotsGreetings
Neat little birds and the little perches on the bird feeder look so sturdy. I like that.
AWESOME title, perfect for this entry!!i am surprised how much yellow the males still have. mine are also brighter this winter then they usually are!!everything loaded quickly this morning....yesterday, i cleaned the kitchen while i waited ;)the kitchen wasn't too dirty ;)
Hi Theresa, I have only seen one pair here in the year I have been in my new neighborhood in FL. I miss these cheerful little birds. Your Goldfinches look happy and healthy. So pleased you have these colorful sweet birds!
Pretty sight those cheery little Goldfinches!
Kojarzą mi się z naszymi czyżykami:)
Very sweet pictures and I love your post title!
Good title, goldrush, ha ha.
I really enjoy these birds. A bright spot in the day!
Nice photos ! Our Gold Finch this year haven't been eating the thistle they are preferring the other seed lol ! Guess their tastes have changed !
Aw, I miss those guys! GREAT shots!
There's been a handful of Goldfinches that over-wintered here. Not sure why they don't migrate out with the rest. I think they were young ones. Nice photos!
Those are just awesome pictures of those precious little friends of yours!
Beautiful gold rush, sweet birds. cannot wait till they visit me, Blessings Francine.
I love goldfinches! Such happy little birds. I see that they are starting to get their colors back.
Very nice, as thistles are quite the delicious treat. I have to sprinkle my Frosty with more treats as winter made another complete wash of all my bird food!
Such cute little birds Tex!!Great captures!!Dimi...
They're back! I saw one on the porch the other day searching for the Niger feeder. So out it came but no more Goldfinches. They will come back. Aren't they the sweetest birds. MB
Love your happy little birds!!
They seem quite content! Probably glad Bubba isn't around:@)
All the goldfinches must be there because there haven't been many here all winter. They haven't even gone through one small bag of thistle yet.
You have quite the sanctuary
Just bought another 20 lb bag of thistle for these flying piggies...$32. Price keeps going up everytime.
wel een mooi systeem zo kunnen er heel veel tegelijk eten.
Śliczne są i z pewnością zadowolone z pełnego podajnika jedzenia. Pozdrawiam.Cute and certainly are happy with the tray full of food. Yours.
What a fine collection of goldfinch shots. Some of these birds have brilliant coloring too. None there this time of year, but i hope to have some visit here in the summer.
There is a flock that think I am their food source. Now that I can see them they are quite used to me now. It just cracks me up to see them waiting for me when I feed my chickens. You got such good shots of them.
Looks like our Oregon goldfinch made the trip in good shape ;>)! (And are still hungry.)
Haven't seen these in the yard, but pretty sure this is what we saw last year at the battlegrounds. Hubby just mentioned that we needed to go down there and check out the birds. I'll say we do! My camera has dust on it and hasn't been used in a while. I'm going to need a refresher course.
You have a nice population of golden finches. I keep out the thistle to attack them, but I get mostly sparrows and other small song birds. Occasionally, I'll see one!! Please tell your's to come over my way :-}}
The gold finches are beautiful. We don't see them here till spring.
Wonderful photos, lovely birds!
They were the first bird I learned about...way back in 1802!...:)JP
Lovely wee birds, and what a super feeder, room for many, each with his own perch and feed box, lovely pics, cheers from Jean
Very pretty little birds.
Good to have birds at you :)get at the disposal a variety of food :) Greetings from Poland
What sweet little birds! I love the series.
Beautiful little birds ...
American Goldfinches are professional free loaders.
They are such beautiful birds! We have a few that stayed here for the Winter. They are an odd shade of brown/green right now but they will start turning yellow pretty soon.
I love the colors of the birds against the mint green of the feeder.
Lucky little birds to find your place. They will be back for more...Happy weekend.Hugs,JB
Wow! Beautiful birds and fantastic photos. Greetings.
Lovely little guys! They will soon be heading north to us!
˚°Bonito! Super bonito!Boa semana! 。˛¸♪♡ Beijinhos.¸♯♡♡♪♪
Nice looking birds. I stopped using Niger thistle seed and just use sunflower chips and pieces. I can't see any difference in traffic.
aren't they beautiful?I was once waiting for a bus at the perfect time . . a beautiful - enormous thistle patch was close by and countless birds came for a snack . . they were talking among themselves - it was easy to overhear, even though i couldn't understand . . it made me so happy. i tried to explain to others waiting for the same bus . . but, it didn't resonate with them . . . still, aren't they beautiful????
I see the males still have their winter plumage. We call them salad birds when they are here in they summer they are bright yellow.
Nice look at these finches. Well done.
Creative title - lots of gold, I'd say!
They look so at home on the feeder's you have gifted them with...and so graceful, I love them.
So lovely captures of the sweet birds!
The light yellow head makes them look delicate but I know they are not. Any wild animal has to be strong to survive.
So pretty ... I can just about hear their constant twittering with delight at that huge pantry of seed ;D)
Nice to have some gold at your feeders.
What a beauty. I hope we get some colorful visitors this Spring.
They are adorable as ever! I feel like some of them are starting to get their color back. Won't be long....spring is on its way.
Such beautiful little birds. They've been really flocking to the feeder lately.
Beautiful little goldfinches.
They're beautiful. I can't wait to see them this summer!

Nice! I see they're getting their summer yellow on. Ours are still pretty drab. Spring is a long way off around here.
I think they're incredibly sweet.

Gokldfinch are some of my favorite birds. These shots are very good. Love the pics framed. Makes them stand out. Might be my imagination but your blog looks different. Looks sharper-clearer or maybe there is not change and it's jjust me. :-)
