Whistlers on Wednesday 63

A small flock of Whistlers were quite leery about Bubba squirrel sharing their feed.

A second squirrel ponders coming in to feed, decides it wasn't worth the trouble and quickly departs.

Bubba, however, makes himself at home.

The Whistlers continue to fuss at him.

Bubba almost looks puzzled, doesn't he?

The youngster is actually the injured juvenile duck with a group of his adult guardians - by this time his limp was recovering nicely.

A minor family squabble.

I love how the adult gives the juvie a nudge.

Finally, everyone decides to eat in peace - and the sun comes out. "Laaaa!"

How wonderful nature is Tex.
One would have thought that the whistlers would have pecked at the squirrel to move.. They are just enjoying natures harmony in peace.. great shots.
love those Whistlers.

In squirrel, Bubba is saying, "Hey, there's plenty for all of us!" And discipline of youngsters doesn't look so different among animals than it does among people, does it?

A great little senario going on herer. I can only imagine what the Whiltlers are saying to each others. It might go like this" You're the boss, chase that Bubba away, he's eating all our food"
The boss, " I don't know... Bubba looks like a heavy weight to me, best to just ignore him. If he eats enough, he might explode and we'll have pop corn.
hahaha

Another fun look into the Whistler family drama. I loved the adult reprimanding the juvie. Calling on memories from my childhood, I'd guess the adult was saying, "Don't you sass me, youngster."

I can't say it would hurt my feelings if Bubba got just a few pecks on the rear for snitching the bird's feed. You are gonna have to put the stinker on a diet though...he's starting to look like a stuffed pig.

My ducks and squirrels duke it out all of the time by the ground feeder. The ducks usually win, depending on the numbers of each, but on occassion they all settle in to eat. Probably depends on how much food is available. Fun pictures ...

Bubba may be a deaf squirrel and doesn't hear the fussing Whistlers.Or just have the attitude that food is food and lets the Whistlers yacking, go in one ear and out the other!! Especially since they NEVER leave!!
