Beautiful pics of the doves. This is one bird we have plenty of around here. Almost as many as sparrows. Still, I never get tired of seeing them.

Love that, strutting his stuff, ha ha. Nice one.

So pretty! My mother kept doves at one time. They don't build good, sturdy nests, though. The nests they build in our eaves fall apart and the babies fall out and have to be taken to the wildlife rehab hospital to be raised and released.

Such sweet photos! we have a morning dove. There were two when we first lived here 4 years ago but now just one. Sings a very mournful song and perch's on top of a telephone pole in the back yard area. Yesterday I caught two fat robins pecking the ground. One had a huge worm in its mouth. You know I love those worms. When we walk on the grassy trails near our home I always put them back into the lawn. My hubby laughs at me but I know how good they are for the earth! I always cherish seeing your photos and reading your posts. I am going to make an effort to stop by more often as I have you as a very favorite blog to visit. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Anne

Strutting about like no other too! These are one of my favorites, and it's hearing their song even before seeing them that excites the new found birth of nature inside of me!

very good shots. I have some right outside my door, and looking at your photos it is hard to believe those birds who fight like street brawlers every day is that nice calm looking bird in your pictures. I can't figure it out because I think these two are mates but it sounds like bones breaking they fight each other so hard.

I do enjoy the morning Doves!! Especially their cooing!!
When I hear them in the early morning hours, they take me back to my grandmother's farm in So. Indiana. Sitting on her breeze way next to the water pump, looking at the morning glories and listening to the doves and I'm 10 again :-}}}

I love seeing the detail in the mourning doves.

There was a couple of them trying to build a nest on my neighbor's window ledge for a week or more, but failed and moved on. I took pictures of them fondling and playing. I'll miss them.

What pretty doves. We have doves who come everyday to eat the seed I leave out for the birds but they are not this color. I need to check to see what kind of doves we have here as I thought they were Mourning Doves but I'm sure now they are not the same as these.
