Now that is really something to see. Except for the 'mess' they leave behind. Great captures!

They must have heard about the great margaritas served there.

Still a bit cool that day, huh?

Best ever deck ornaments! :)

Made me think of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds...Love the one legged stance. I wonder if the village would be mad if I built a pond in my back yard. lol

Love the up close shots. One leg is good...lol. Have a great day!

I wonder if they consider your property to be their property.

Pretty....except for the "gifts" they leave behind....sorta like the Canada geese around here.... Thankfully they don't perch on our deck rails!

Just love how these whistlers line up on your porch rail. So charming

Revrunner said...

There's just some who can and some who cannot . . . stand on one leg. :-)

Anvilcloud said...

Hah! I think it's very cool to have them on your deck like that although I presume some hosing may be necessary in the aftermath.

Julia said...

No need to spend lots of money in lawn or deck ornaments when you have Whistlers around.

Hugs,
JB

They seem to make themselves at home. Think they know you give them a handout and a place to stay for a while.

Do you reckon they'd come right in your front door if you left it open? Oh, you might have to put a pan of feed just inside. Bet they would! lol

It's wonderful to be able to have them so close but then you have to deal with the poop!

This reminds me of a childs tale of the Kings cook, who roasted a duck. The cook had to check that it was good, so he ate one leg. Later, the king wondered why there was only one leg, and the cook said that ducks only had one leg. He took the king at night, to see the ducks, which were sleeping with one leg up.
Like the one duck in two of your pictures

I don't know these ducks I'll have to look them up. They are beautiful though

sparkle100-havealook.blogspot.com said...

Why would all your beautiful geese, whistlers, ducks even think of coming my way to fly when they know where they have a second home. Your place.

boooooooooooo hoooooo

Ms. A said...

The increase in bird poop, since putting out feeders, is terrible. I can't even imagine the amount you have to deal with. However, your reward in birds and photo opportunities is worth dealing with the unfortunate parts. Happy cleanup!

Mama Zen said...

They are so cute!

Red said...

Now I'll bet they can make a mess of your deck railings.
