Did She or Didn't She?

She did! Katydid! ;) This female Shieldback Katydid sat next to my chair on the front patio last week.


 Not bad detail...

Yes, as the others have said, cellphones will soon replace all the other cameras, except those who do it for a profession, I suspect. What a weird creature. I've never seen one before. :-)

Wow Theresa, those are great shots. It's unbelievable that your camera takes such close up shots.

Curiosity made me look up Katydid on the web but I could be wrong, your photos looks more like a cricket with that long thing on its butts. They get really noisy in August in our area when it's mating season.

looks like it belongs to the grasshopper family or the crickets.
You took great photos with your camera.

Great macros! We used to get camel crickets in our basement, very similar looking to this but without the shield. That spike on the end looks the same. Our dog used to try and pick them up and dropped them fast.
