Happy Memorial Day!Great tribute post for Memorial Day.. Enjoy your Monday!
They will never be forgotten. A fine memorial.
Have an enjoyable Memorial Day.
An excellent choice for today.
Nice Tribute, TWG.
A beautiful tribute on this day of remembrance.
Oh, I think it is important to have this day to memorize the honor of these people. We have the same kind of day in August. I've never heard of my father mentioned about war (he was born in the last year for drafting). Funny I have a lot of wonderful memories enjoying movies, dramas with him;) Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to my American photographer friend Theresa, xoxo Miyako*
The perfect tribute for this day. I lost an Uncle in Normandy during WWII. He made in inland, but was killed the next day. My grandmother was a poet and I have the poem she wrote about losing her son. It is sad, but wonderful. Thanks for linking up!
The symbolic American flag requires no comment. . .we understand immediately when we see its image.
Yes, a heartfelt thank you to all those who gave their all so we could live the life of freedom we enjoy today!
Who gave and continue to give!
Thankful for the sacrifice of those who served and those still in active duty.
remembering all those lost to war and their families
Have a great Memorial Day Tex and a marvellous Monday.Best wishes Molly

Happy Memorial day to you!
A fitting tribute today Ms. T.I lost my best friend [and almost fiancé] in the Viet Nam War, and my uncle who was a belly gunner in a B-17 was shot in the head over Norwich England during WWII while flying over the English Channel. So many sacrifices...all sad.
My Dad came home but many friends did not.Thank you.
awww t, this kinda put a lump in my throat. it's a beautiful image of such an ugly "thing". for me i feel the fear of the men who drove it and those that faced it!!a wonderful tribute theresa, it's nice that your town/area has a permanent reminder/memorial!!
I feel for the families left behind. It is fitting to remember those brave soldiers today.Hugs,JB

That's very noble to remember about our heroes !
these tanks are so impressive-as are the soldiers who have fought and who fight and will fight-still such a tragedy we need still beasts like these...
Ah, the General Motors Sherman!Salute!
Perfect images for today. Never forgotten, always thankful
Nice tribute! We are remembering. Happy Memorial Day!
We must never forget the sacrifices of those who fought and died to preserve our freedom.
Dearest Theresa,And also let us pray that the young(er) generations will one day understand what true FREEDOM really means... and at what price for so many it has been handed to them!Hugs,Mariette
It is nice to have a Memorial day. I think it is very important to remember history, so we do not make the same mistakes all over again.
If only tanks were not entered on the grassland, at below.:)
One should not forget ...
This is such an important day, TexWis! Thanks for reminding we Canadians about Memorial Day. It inspires the same thoughts I always have on our Remembrance Day (Nov.11th). Please, oh please, let us find a way to get along with each other so that no more young men and women will have to give up their lives before they've even had a chance to taste life as a mature adult.
I've always wanted to take a ride in one of these monsters, but thanks to our veterans, I never had to!
Wonderful T xx
Thanks to the many wonderful men and women!
May we always remember them with gratitude.
God bless all who serve. Lovely T.
A wonderful post for memorial day.
Nice looking tank.
Thankfully my daddy did come home...
Hi Theresa, Beautiful tribute! Have a fantastic coming week!
Great idea. I've seen numerous Memorial Day tributes, but none involving a tank!
Excellent photos for today.
God bless 'em. Great post!
happy memorial day. we have our as ANZAC day.
A beautiful simple tribute filled with some much truth. Thank you for sharing.
We are all thankful and grateful for the sacrifice of those who served and those still in active duty.
Tanks and cannon adorn greens around New England for the very same reason. On Memorial Day, it's strange and surreal and beautiful to watch kids playing around these memorials. They remind us what it's all about.
Awesome and heartfelt tribute.
Happy Memorial Day!
Our nearest town, the small town of about 500 where our kids go to school, has a retired military helicopter in a very nice memorial park. We are remembering along with you.
That tank is a poignant reminder of people who gave their lives for us.
What a poignant tribute!
Happy Memorial Day :)and the last post with the bluebonnets was the bomb!!LOVED IT!!!
Old equipment perhaps but definitely not rubbish. A perfect tie-in for this important holiday.~Lindy
Great way to celebrate memorial day.

I wish that by remembering we'd stop making the same mistakes over and over.
Good tribute ... Do not forget!!!
Excellent and timely photo.
Unfortunately some rubbish tells a sad story.
The right post...Thank You.
Yes! We should never forget. Well done.
Actually, it's terrible that the menshied has memories of wars, but it should also never be forgotten. Beautiful pictures of these memories Theresa.
We have one of those retired tanks in my small community. What a great way to honor veterans with those huge pieces of equipment!
Just catching up.....this looks like a fun blog hop to join in the future.
Happy belated Memorial Day! We visited the American Cemetary in Normandy and it was really moving.
