The Pups

Heading out to the barn one afternoon to feed the horses, I stepped out the door to see the three girls all laying on the front patio rug. Amazingly, they stayed put while I whipped out my cell phone and snapped two shots of them together.
Louise, Thelma and BB - apparently mugging for the camera

Where was Baron? He was dancing at my feet, waiting very impatiently for his share of the carrots I had in my hand. (The dogs and I often eat pieces of carrots on the way out to the barn - the horses are lucky to get what's left.) :)

Funny. I can visualize it. You all doing the carrot dance going out to the barn. Beautiful family you have there.

I've been wishing for another dog and you have 4. Lucky you! Fergus needs a friend to play with, but the thought of more dog hair to vaccuum keeps me from ru;nning out to get one. I have found myself checking out the rescue web sites frequently though. Think I would like another lab mix like Willie. Dreaming on...

They are such fine dogs, and everybody is lucky. They are to have you, and vice versa. Dogs like carrots? Who knew? :-)

Ha ~ always love seeing your pups. Our littleGabby does the same thing , begs for a carrot when I am breaking them up for the ponies. Sometimes I give her a whole one just to see her drag it around ( as the carrot is usually longer than she is)! When you mention your dogsThelma and Louise ~ of course I think of the movie ~ I love it.

Group nap! Nice. If you feed a carrot to your dog every day it cleans the tartar from their teeth. Works better than greenies or any other purchased treat, seriously. A carrot a day keeps the dentist away.

oh Tex your girls

are so adorable.

They look so gentle. Are they guard dogs if anyone should come near you as a stranger? I suppose they are of course.

On T.v You tube. Did you see the cat chase the neighbors dog who attached the little four year old boy? It has been playing none stop this week.

I know you have a cat right. I was really surprised to see that a cat would attach a neighbors dog to protect the wee boy who lives in the cats house. Oh it is worth seeing on you Tube.

Great shot! I can't ever get shots like that. If there is a moment where my dog is snuggled close to another (or at least within 10 feet!), the second I pull the camera out she runs off. I think she's paparazzi-shy!

Your canine babies are all so beautiful. I'm curious about a couple of things. Thelma and Louise... did they come into your life at the same time and therefore the pairing type name? Did one come first and the other was then a natural to name because of the already existing name? Also, what does it say on the mat in that last photo?

Your nosy neighbour to the north. ;)

Your pups are so sweet! The three do look like they posed for you. I guess Baron had interest in other things. :-)

pattisjarrett said...

That's funny about Baron wanting to share the carrots. We had a Golden who loved veggies. Hubby would lay cucumbers (we always had plenty of those!) at the edge of the garden when he picked them, and Beau would always help himself to one. One summer, the last tomato of the year was plucked and left on the cart--we didn't get to eat that one, somedoggie beat us to it.

Ida said...

Nice looking dogs. What a lucky shot to get them altogether like that. I've longed to get all 6 of our cats in one shot but I doubt that will ever happen.

BB's tongue made me laugh in the first picture :)

You're lucky your dogs like vegetables. Buddy is too humanlike in his food selections. Like he will only eat the yellow parts of an egg, never the white parts. He will spit out the veggies of a potpie.

I love Louise's black and white tail :)

Gail Dixon said...

Such sweet pups! You have a great pack. I have one chihuahua that loves any type of vegetable or fruit; the other two won't touch that stuff.
