Good Fences #12

Would this be a really 'good' fence? This is the entrance to The Kaufman County Cowboy Church.
I like how they use a 'brand' to designate their name: K3c
Kaufman County Cowboy Church (K3c). For those that may not know, a 'cowboy church' is known as a come-as-you-are church. No need to dress up. Come in jeans, boots, 'right off the trail' if you like.
Bring on your fences!

1. Link in a post featuring a photo or photos of fences or gates.
2. Link back to Run*A*Round Ranch Report in your post or use the badge code to display the Good Fences button in your post that automatically links back here.
3. If time allows, please visit some of the other participants and comment on their shared posts.

Thank you!

That is a rather unusual concept for a church!

As it should be. The fence is simple as is the concept. I wonder if more people show since they don't have to put on their Sunday best.

We actually belong to a cowboy church...CHURCH AT THE BARN.

Thanks for hosting this fun party.

Have you ever attended the Cowboy Church?

I wondered if there are really enough cowboys to have their own church. Thanks for the clarification. :-)

Oh, I (Japanese)even thought that to go to church must be a formal occasion and so as how you wear. It is wonderful there are churches with 'come-as-you-are' style. The church fence with dangling K3c is really attractive. But I was amazed the huge space without houses and buildings ;)

Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan to my American photographer friend Theresa, xoxo Miyako*

This is a first for me...although I know there are many casual churches (and that's OK with me), I have never seen one called a Cowboy Church...love it!

Nice view.
Wonder if they provide water for the horses. I didn't see that in the picture :)
Peace :)

Stephen Hayes said...

I like the idea of a come-as-you-are church. But that dinky little cross above the gate could be better integrated into some sort of design instead of just being perched up there.

Paula said...

John and I attended Cowboy Fellowship for several years. Quite a difference between it and the country historical church we attend now. As many as 800 to 1000 there and 8 to 15 people at the church we attend now. They have a lot of roping and such for the kids and like you say "come as you are" for the old cowboys who don't want to get dressed up.

My grandmother lives in North Texas and she was so curious that she once attended a service at a Cowboy Church. I think she liked it, but she still goes to her local place.
Love this unassuming fence. :)

I like the whole concept and the abbreviation - and in the city there are churches like this kind (only no cowboys:) ) where I've often come in my jeans and flip flops and the guys in shorts and sandals.

A Cowboy Church is a great idea for those who wish to worship but dread getting decked out in their Sunday best. As for the fence, it is simple and lets the sky show through very nicely. That makes it a good fence :)

I might have enjoyed church in my teens if I could have worn whatever I liked. My mom used to make us dress up in our best clothes, always wear a fancy hat, nylons, high heels, and never be without white gloves---even in 98º heat in the middle of July ---when I really wanted to attend the "church of shut-eye."

Thanks for stopping to view my "Good Fences" post this week.
