Two Pond Greats

A Great Blue Heron perches on the fence panels at closer side of the pond.

 A Great Egret walks the shoreline just beyond the tire fence.

Of course seeing these great birds made me go look on the internet to read about them. They are so similar in habit and looks except the Great Egret is slightly smaller and is white.

ooohhhh Theresa, these are really exceptional, really!! I LOVE the egret and his perfect reflection. That belongs in a frame for sure!! Gorgeous pond visitors!!

Lovely birds. We haven't seen all that much of the great blue here, this year. He was around a lot last year and only fleetingly so far, this year. Now I know where he's hanging out. ;)
