Such a beautiful post and great shots !Greetings
I love a happy ending:@)
Nice shots Theresa. I use to like watching these guys run around the flight line when I was stationed in Tucson.
That was such a great sequence of photographs. I love the road runner! More beautiful than the old cartoon one.
Wonders in nature.Greetings.Nice,great shots !
love it when you add commentary! neat pictures of road runner
My feeling is that a roadrunner is not a bird to be trifled with. :-)
*Note to Tex: Please do NOT refrain! heheBrilliant shots, and even brillianter dialogue.
Hahaha great note :))and a sweet serie!
have another wass of gline. your dialogue between them in these wonderful captures is precious and quite discernible. i see this every day between my female mini poodle, Jaz, and the squirrels she chases up the tree. gracias, mi amiga, for sharing such natural wondrous beauty
I love this blog post, wine and all. lol. I'd love a couple of roadrunner to put the run to the many squirrels who are raiding my bird feeders. lol...Hugs,JB
I say drink wine every time you post, I love it... so now we know Roadrunners trump squirrels
Yes Sandra is right. I love the 'crack' (an Irish word) in this post and you managed to get such great close ups of the Roadrunner. Just don't drink too much wine when you are photographing!!
Love it! I especially like the sense of humor the flavor of wine has released. :-)
Outstanding capture! Beautiful bird!
Any minute I was ready for that squirrel to come over the bowl. Roadrunner...whew! Squirrel...huh?
Haha! I think you should do more posts while drinking wine! I enjoyed these series of photos - it's still hard to believe you get Roadrunners in your yard, as I've always thought of them as remote desert birds. Amazing!
LOL I love the roadrunner's face in the "panic has set in" picture. Adorable all the way around. Glad things worked out for him in the end and disaster was averted. :D
I love those birds.Great pics.
Quite a distinguished looking fellow too. He looks to be bigger than the squirrels.
LOL Tex we enjoyed that and so pleased roadrunner stood his ground.Have a terrific Tuesday.Best wishes Molly
Hi TWG - amazing shots - thanks for showing us ... cheers Hilary
hehehe...."sipping" wine, your suppose to "sip" it!!!the road runner is really beautiful. that long tail, lots of color and so much detain in his feather pattern. he makes for a nice visitor!!!and the varmint...cute, but the road runner steals the show!!
Roadrunner is very beautiful and interesting..
I agree, your post is a hoot. Your posting process now includes wine.Would this be a male Roadrunner?Btw... the photos are wonderful!
Isn't he the cutest and I love the commentary. Great photos of the road runner and I especially love the fourth one from the bottom.
p.s. I think maybe I ought to drink more wine! ;)
The roadrunner is really focusing in on the activities of the squirrel. Great pictures!
I think the wine worked just fine.
See, another 'unsettling' tale of a bushy-tailed varmint. I'm so happy I'm not the only one who, from time to time, is 'unsettled' by them. What a beautiful bird, btw.
Haha! I wonder what happen if the roadrunner had some wine? Doesn't bare thinking about!
Posting without wine? Where's the fun in that?? Beautiful photos. I don't think I have ever seen a roadrunner that close up. Lovely!
Maybe that's what I have been doing wrong! No wine!
Wine induced blog posts are the best. I have never seen a roadrunner that close, they are always so damn fast.
A fine series of this wily roadrunner. They are so pert and sharp looking. As a bird they are so worthy of being famous in that cartoon.
'Where'd that darned squirrel go? Oh, there he is!' Cute photos!
Cool! I've never seen one of those...don't look a lot like the one's I grew up with in Southern New Mexico.
I love that squatty bird bath, and the orange stripe on RR's head. Your posts beat the cartoon hands down.
That was great. Can I send you some more wine?
Well i really enjoyed your post and your wonderful pictures,Tex!Like all your road runner,shots!!Excellent!!Dimi...
I would have thought u were of a beer person? any who / love the roadrunner. neat sighting!! ( :
Drink more wine and write more. hee hee. The roadrunner looks extra large or maybe it's the picture. Great!
Hi Theresa, I have come to believe that the squirrels and birds are pretty much in-synch and may have a kind of communication between themselves. Great pictures and captions! Have a lovely day today!
Gorgeous shots T! Great commentary too!!
Wow, that's a very handsome looking bird. x
Excellent post and drinking wine while blogging sounds like fun to me. I'll have to try it!
I love number 16, really excellent photography.
Wine and fun photos!! Doesn't get any better! Love it!!
haha with the wine Tex! Skinny Chicken looks perfectly able to take on the varmints! Love Skinny Chicken.. nice to see him today!
It's so cool that you get to see these birds so often.
You dun good, girl! Whine a little, you'll feel better. (I saw this on a banner in the campground) Neat pictures!!
Whew! You had me on the edge of my chair. Gulp!Great series---love the music---oh that was only in my head.MB
A great bird and wonderful pictures. Love that little squirrel getting in on the action too.
This bird doesn't look too intimidated by that squirrel.
Big time jealousy here! :)Wonderful pics!
This must be the best photo-story of the week, do other readers do what I do, click on the first photo ( after reading the whole story) then click fast, and you have a slide show in fast motion. words to fit the Roadrunner's eyes so well, I love every bit. Jean.
what a fun post! Love the pic of the squirrel hiding under the birdbath. :) p.s. don't put down the wine! lol
*squirrel stalking intensifies* Ha - love it.I'd say you do quite well when drinking wine. LOL
I think that is my favorite shot ever of the squirrel peaking out.I love road runners.Great work here.
A fun post, Tex! I try not to do a post after drinking wine too. ;-)
LOL Love your humor in this phlog way too funny =0)Love the Roadrunner absolutely beautiful ♥The squirrel did a photo bomb ♥ lol
That skinny chicken seemed to have been eating quite well, of late!Nice shots of him from the back.
Love the pictures (and the commentary!). I have always wanted to see a roadrunner in person.
A great series of photos. The Road Runners look so cute - wish I could see one sometime!
I love that you are enjoying some wine while writing your post. It brings out more creativity! A fun standoff!
Love those pictures and he way you visualize what the birds see is fun to read. Thanks.
Love roadrunners and the wine statement :)
So funny! Writing blog posts & drinking wine go together GREAT!I find it so.That road runner looks huge; I didn't know they were that big. Must be a Lesser Road Runner out there too.
lol...more wine drinking photos and captions! Great photos! I don't ever get to see them around here. I remember seeing my first one and was sad because I thought they were big like the one from the road runner and coyote cartoons seemed to be.
Ha! Too bad I can't drink wine, maybe it would help me post. He sure does swamp that birdbath... which I love and wish I had!
Beautiful pictures of the roadrunner. Whenever I see him at your photos, I have to think about a cartoon in which he also appeared frequently. I had always really laugh at the raodrunner:-)
Fun post, Theresa. Now, have a glass of wine and write some more posts. :-)
great photos, what a hadsome bird
T, I revel in your imagination!

Heeheehee! No privacy!
Super series and commentary Theresa.P.S. Nothing wrong with a little tipple from time to time!
Too funny and fabulous photos. I love those birds! When I read the post title, my mind automatically added "... walk into a bar.." And then when I read down to the end, I saw that it was actually your who had walked into a bar. ;)
A really beautiful post and a lovely pictures!Have a happy week, take care...Warmly,Titti
Hahaha, hand over the wine bottle. I'll take it from here...
Your note to self brought a chuckle :) Loved the dramatic touch. 4th picture up was just perfect!
You do such a great job of capturing the facial expressions of the critters at your feeders. Throw in some witty dialogue and it just falls in place to create a comical situation. The whistlers were my favorite but this road-runner guy is definitely a close second!!
Fantastic series of photos.
That's amazing! I've never seen one!
Squirrels? Meh! Just beware of coyotes with ACME dynamite.
Exciting times for this roadrunner. Very nice !
LOL! He does look a bit concerned about the tree rat! Those tail feathers, though - gorgeous!Second note to self: posts can be edited after the wine wears off. ;-)
This may sound crazy, but I didn't even know a road runner was a real thing until I saw one on someone's blog earlier this year. We don't have them out here in Tennessee, naturally, so it's SO amazing to see pictures of them!
I love these photos!
I bet it was fun though. I love those captions and pictures. :)
Fun post! I'm really suprised that Mr Sneak didn't just jump on up there and make himself at home, like he usually does!
Great photos of the roadrunner. Beautiful bird!
A very fun post! Your photos of the Roadrunner are fabulous! And I love the commentary...
Dearest Theresa,Well, I loved that added zest for adventure in this story!Hugs and Happy Veterans Day.Mariette
Hey friend! I've been peeking in and your critters continued to bring a smile to my face!xo Catherine
Love the shot of the squirrel peaking around the bird bath.
Whaat? Nah, that glass of wine helps gets the creative juices flowing. (I do refrain from writing my comments during that time of the evening though; don't want to get too creative there). Kinda' on the same theme, when I saw the title of your post I immediately thought it sounded like the start of a joke "a squirrel and a roadrunner walk into the RunAround...." Nice pictures!!
He is quite a striking bird, great shots!
Great post! I enjoyed every scene and the dramatic music and was so happy that it had a happy ending. Blessings dear. Catherine
Goof ball! Great pics girl!
You have a very popular bird bath!I say MORE posts while drinking wine.~

A roadrunner and a squirrel walk into a bar ... oops, sorry - I got a little carried away there. 'love & hugs from afar'
The roadrunners really are attractive birds.
What a fabulous series of photos. I've never seen a roadrunner before but you did have me wondering where the coyote was hiding.

Very beautiful pictures Tex, I love the Roadrunner!
Great shots and story line enhanced by a glass of wine!! LOL Happy Wednesday
Love the commentary with these photos!!!! we don't see them often here in Phoenix but they are pretty special birds.
Oh yeah, I can just bet Mr. Roadrunner was busy planning his moves because he wasn't going to give up his post!
Lol! Its a fun series...
LOL! I love it!
cool story. :)
A opposed to drinking Gin? There's so much action, you need a choreographer! The roadrunner has such nice colors and textures.
LOL! Love your wine-y posts. :) That was great!! Beautiful shots of the roadrunner. And I am GREEN with envy. Again.
"To Drink or not to Drink" who cares when the post is this fun. Awesome shots of that Woodpecker. That thing must be huge or the birdbath is really small. Anyway I loved your post.
Hm, that's a roadrunner? Never seen one... Great photo story - I haven't read your other blog posts, but I still say: A little wine cannot hurt. It certainly didn't hurt this post :)
Loved your narrative! Great pictures of the road runner too. ;-)
Fun! Glad to see that roadrunner maintained his position. We've had two red squirrels quibbling about dominance on our deck and possession of the feeders with the sunflower seeds, and they've been quite vocal.
Wine or no wine, you have a flair for the dramatic, Theresa! :-) I love your stories you tell through photos.
You are hilarious - this is a GREAT post! I would love to see a Road Runner at all, let alone on my birdbath - Lucky you!!
Love the roadrunner. How awesome that he stopped to have some water!
Laughed at these cute critters. Drink up, Tex ;)
OK if I tip my glass and make a toast, will you send in the Greater Roadrunner to my birdbath...oh you made me smile! Love, love, love the image shares and you are too funny. Hugs~
It has a very long tail.
There's my favorite Skinny Chicken! :D I sure do love the teal coloring in his tail. He did a very nice modeling job for you today! Fox Squirrel has no idea who he's dealing with!Today I saw a teeny Red Squirrel chasing a Bubba-sized Fox Squirrel in our back yard. Red Squirrel was very fast!Lindy
awesome roadrunner!! A little wine always makes "things" better!!
