I enjoy your photographs of Zim!
How i love watching a horse taking a roll in dust or a bear scratching its back on a tree -- both look so happy and relieved to be doing it!
Such cute photos! My cats do the same thing but it is fun to see such a large animal do the same!
Happy days for Zim. Have a super Saturday.Best wishes Molly
What a cute series.
Great pictures :)Don't you give him a helping hand? ;)【ツ】Knipsa
All done so gracefully.Hugs,JB
He's so nimble! What a beauty!
Hi Tex, Zim is a good-looking horse. I wonder how old he is? I'm pretty sure I know how he feels in that 3rd photo! :-) Have a fine Saturday down there in the Lone Star State. John
Schöne Bilder von Zim fühlt sich wohl wie zu sehen ist.GrußNoke
get Zim one of those long handle claws. they put them in their mouth and turn their necks to scratch. otherwise teach 'whitey'(this is because i couldn't remember your other horses name) to scratch his back.nice pics thoughgracias
Good Morning, Tex.. I love your pretty Zim.. Nothing like a good back scratch... Great series of photos. Thank you in advance for sharing and linking up your post to my critter party.. Have a happy weekend..
I know just how it feels to have that spot right in the middle of your back you just can't reach! :-)
That's a rather big animal to give a tummy rub. :-)
Well Zim does seem happy!
What fun to capture those pictures of Zim. A beautiful horse.
ツ Muito engraçado!...O Natal está chegando... o amor, chamado Jesus, nos pede permissão para entregar toda a paz e felicidade que nos são destinadas.Bom fim de semana!Beijinhos. °｡✿⊱｡｡
A great way to scratch the back!
Geweldig mooi wat een heerlijke serie.
As my Grandpop used to say, "a little dirt never hurt anything":@)
I can feel his relief.
First time seeing a horse doing such! Our pet maya used to do like this on my brother bed when he’s not at his room. She will runaway if he saw her :)
Great catch T . . . maybe I need to try that for my back itch!
so funny and happy is your horse
Hi Tex,Zim looks happy; he enjoys rolling in the sand.A very good weekend.Best regards, Irma
Ah yes, the horse roll. I've had horses for over 40 years and I NEVER tire of watching. Especially the fat ones who take a few tries to get all the way over. Great pics as always!!!
Anyone who has had an itchy back appreciates how that feeling of relief must feel.
What fantastic photos ~ love horse itching himself!Happy Holidays to you, artmusedog and carol
It looks like he enjoyed himself too!
Hi TWG - couldn't agree more - Zim has the right idea .. happy Christmas week .. cheers Hilary
There's nothing like a good back scratch!
What a gorgeous, shiny coat in the first shot! I like that white rear 'boot' in the last. :)We're traveling this week but I did manage to capture a few fences and gates yesterday, so if not this coming week, I ought to be able to link in the following. :)Lindy
Now that is talent, something my dog Misty does, sand, dirt, ice or snow, really, but that's kind of normal- but seeing your lovely Zim, it's like a graceful act of dance!
Just want to add, Ta Da! at the end of all those groovy moves!
I love when our horses roll like this...they are in their own little world...rolling and kicking
Lovely Zim, splash it all over yourself.
I love the horse roll. Shows how happy Zim is with life!
At least it was dry. It's not so amusing when they do it in a mud hole! :-)
Such lovely photos and a gorgeous horse :) Greetings
zim is so beautiful and the second shot upside down just like our dogs do, made me laugh out loud
I've never seen a horse do anything like that.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh...a good back scratch and some dirt to knock off the bugs or whatever!Lindahttp://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com/?s=The+Adventures+of+Fuzzy+and+Boomer&submit=Search http://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com
It takes "horse sense" rather than common sense to solve an itch! Fine shots.
"Nothing like a good roll in the dirt" says Sinbad.

Yes, I love these beautiful photos, a happy horse!!
Glad that wasn't mud, the resulting photos wouldn't be nearly so attractive!
Oh TexWinter is a beautiful horse.I am charmed by him.Wonderful pictures.Greetings from Polish.Lucia
So much fun!! Wish I could have fun rolling in the sand!! Thanks for smiles -- I can use all I can get these days!
Having good time.
Everybody likes a good back scratching!
A rock in the dirt, a roll, and a superb flick of my tail, and I pose, standing tall and looking regal. Your last photo, my pick. Jean.
Great shots, Theresa ... thank goodness the bare spot was dry mud ... or, ugh! Love it! Andrea @ From The Sol
Great photo of a horse roll. I like the middle one best.
Nothing quite like a good old roll in the dirt.

Great sequence! :)

Now that looks like a very contented horse!
I guess he wanted to play. Regards.
My dogs do that, but I've never seen a horse do that.
God, I love animals. What great equalizers!Simple joy!
It must be a good scratching area, zim would know!!
At first I got frightened, but phew I saw his picture on his four legs.

That is the funniest thing I have seen!!!! It made me laugh!!!! I love it. And yes I'm back.
These are really fun images. I went out today on a small field trip (more on my blog soon), and had a encounter with a funny horse myself, so I chuckled when I saw your images. :DMersadMersad Donko Photography

Whatta cutie Zim is, and what fun too!! :-)
Just the thing for an itchy back. Now you've got me hunting for my backscratcher.
That's one way of getting a back rub!
Don't you love watching them! My cats do this, but it's not nearly so much fun as the horses!
I can guess why that spot is bare. That's where Zim-shimmies occur.
We big city types have never seen that! So cool. I'm smarter nowALOHA from HonoluluComfortSpiral <3
Zim has a knack for taking care for an itch. :)
Zim looks to be in hog heaven, I mean horse heaven.
Nothing like a good roll in the dirt, beautiful horse.Francine.
Dearest Theresa,Haha, watching the big pets doing this is even more hilarious. At times our felines make me want to roll with them... They ENJOY it so much!Hugs,Mariette
Looks like fun Zim! I used to love to watch the horses roll in the dust and dirt -- even the snow! It's rather amazing to see a large animal kicking it's legs in the air and rolling about.
Great photos! Horses are such beautiful strong beings. Love them!
These are so cute!
Your photos are super.Super post.Thanks.
Zim is so handsome! He looks like he would let you rub his belly.
Looks like that felt really good! :)
Nothing like a good roll in the dust... Zim looks so pleased with himself in that last picture!
Zim behaves like a dog in the second picture.
He is a beauty!!Have a great day!Shantana
Fun shots! I love the second photo. :-)
he is so handsome and these are lovely shots of him. Have a great Sunday and a wonderful Christmas week ahead.
What a beautiful coat he has. I saw a Christmas bag at Walmart yesterday. "Shake the Merry" it said. I wish you and all your critters a holiday "Shake the Merry" this week!
Wow...It was a good romp !!!
What great captures. Love seeing Zim scratch his back!!
Nice way for Zim to relax !
Reminds me of our dog Ginger when she wants her belly rubbed.
Oh, I bet that felt so good! Lol
I'd say that if he can get up from that position, I ought to be able to. Getting old up here. lol.
Looks like he's enjoying himself! LOL
Always enjoy seeing Zim. Sassy swish he has on that tail. What's with the reCaptcha thing? It's an improvement over the blurred numbers, etc. But I noticed you don't even have to click the box. Blogger is so weird.
Ahhh, there's nothing quite like a good roll in the dirt.
Oh my gosh -- I never knew horses would do that. What bliss.
Such a beautiful big horse! It makes me chuckle to see him on his back with his feet in the air. It makes me think of a little dog that wants you to scratch its stomach.
he seemed to enjoy it :)
I love it...I didn't know they did that!
