I Think This is Bubba!

Do you remember Bubba from last year? Quite an impressive beast of a squirrel, he was...
Bubba Squirrel
Another Dose of Bubba Squirrel
One Last Dose of Bubba Squirrel

I'm not sure if this is the same squirrel - the notch in the ear is just noticeable - but his shape is certainly familiar!

Nice to see he's doing, um, 'well!' :)
Just to show you not all of Run*A*Round's squirrels are obese, we do have a few more normal-sized ones...

I believe this is Bubba, since what are the chances of having TWO squirrels with eating disorders. LOL.. OR it could be Barbara, Bubba's mate about to have 11 babies.

Revrunner said...

Actually, they both look like they're thriving.

Dicky Bird said...

Oh he is "not fat, he's just fluffy" from one of your "fluffy" followers....

Terri Buster said...

That has got to be Bubba or at least a kissing cousin. You are going to have to hang the feeder up a greased pole to make him burn a few calories for his treats. Sneaky devil, but so cute!

eileeninmd said...

LOL yes, that does look like Bubba! I am glad all your squirrels do not need to go on diets.. Cute photos! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post today.! I wish you and your family a happy New Year! Have a great weekend!

I was just photographing one of ours this morning, I'll be sharing soon. Some of ours are pretty chubby too.

Hi Theresa,
He looks like a not-run-around-a-ranch squirrel, but the other one does :)
I need to run-around-the-block too...

Have a Beautiful Day!

Peace :)

Excuse me. Just wanted to point out that you used the word 'normal' in the same sentence as squirrel. Nuts!

Gail said...

He certainly knows where the food is!

thepoodleanddogblog said...

I wouldn't think there would be any food left after Bubba finished eating.

thirtysevenandcounting said...

I wonder if Bubba has a twin brother, because we have a male squirrel here who is just as round as Bubba! The other ones all look so tiny in comparison! Ha!

Too many Christmas Puds!!! If he is Bubba, doing so well and a return visit, wonder if he will stay all winter? Jean.

I do! I do! It could be, but I know like the few I name around here, sometimes they can fool you, unless they have some special marking or oddly shaped tail! Happy to see you again Bubba!

The squirrels do pretty well here, too, especially when I have bread out for the birds. Then the squirrels get plenty of exercise hanging on the birds' bread baskets to get their share.

The comments on Bubba themselves made me laugh! He sure is a large squirrel! Cute! Phyllis

Hi Theresa, We have scrawny squirrels in this area - I also think many do not live long lives due to our resident birds of prey. Glad to see your "Bubba" still doing fine. You are good to your wildlife. Have a great Sunday!

I love his golden little (?) tummy! I've noticed that our squirrels here are sort of gray and they blend in well with our trees. The ones at the lake are more brown and do the same. Is this common, if you don't mind me asking and assuming you know!!!

Sorry I've missed so many of your posts...ahhh, the holidays! :)

hee hee I've never heard of or seen an obese squirrel before. Love his bright orange chest.

Oh this is hilarious! Who doesn't love a squirrel like Bubba? And you also have to love the skinny ones who have to get by, by eating the crumbs leftover from Big Bubba! Lol

My daughter is amazed by the chubbiness of Bubba !

Wally Jones said...

A mighty handsome creature, no matter who he may be!

Hilary said...

It's him, for certain (in my mind, anyway). We tend to look for distinct features to recognize our local critters. Bubba (or should we say.. Blubbeh) has a little dark line of fur angling just so between the upper bridge of his nose/forehead to the corner of his left eye. It's visible in past posts. So is what changed my mind from thinking maybe it's a preggo female. ;)

McGuffy Ann Morris said...

Oh, I love him! Great photos!

Tina@WhatWeKeep said...

I love Bubba! We have a skirl with a notched ear, too. he always tries to run the others off- he thinks he owns the place! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Theresa!

How funny! What are you feeding that guy? He's really cute though in all his roly-polyness!

michaelswoodcraft said...

Yep, Looks like bubba,... he loves to eat!! :)

pattisjarrett said...

The last squirrel looks malnourished next to Bubba! LOL All "mine" have similar physiques, it's only scars or other telltale signs that differentiate them now. One has very light hair on top of its ears, so it always stands out in the crowd.

Jeevan said...

Very cute series. He's pretty in shape

barbara l. hale said...

Maybe that's Bubbette and is about to have a few offsprings. Just wondering...

Black Jack's Carol said...

Catching up here and glad I didn't miss this one. Bubba may have to cut down a calorie or two before he explodes, but he sure is cute.

SweetMarie said...

My mama squirrel in Orlando had a similar war injury on her ear and that's how I would recognize her and eventually she would just sit on our garden window. :)
it's so good to see Bubba again! Glad he's still around. :) you're an Angel for all God's creatures...
