Mr. and Mrs. Claws

Well, they have claws (and use them effectively to climb and cling.) They wear red caps and have red bellies, too. No Santas, just two Red-Bellied Woodpeckers at the feeders. First, the mister...


Tipping that dashing red cap.

And the missus.


She has more gray hair - undoubtedly from dealing with that hot-headed husband of hers... ;)

I put out a couple of new suet blocks last week when it got cold in hopes of catching a glimpse of a few of those woodpeckers myself. No luck yet , I'll have to settle for your great pictures for now I guess!
