Vultures Doing Clean-Up

Note: If you get Word Verification, it is a Blogger/Google glitch! YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO IGNORE IT AND HIT ENTER! THE COMMENT SHOULD PUBLISH WITHOUT TYPING IN THEIR FIGURES! (Sadly, it might still be required for Wordpress and Typepad users.) Another fix is to change comment settings to 'Embedded' instead of 'Pop-Up' but I think that makes the page reload after leaving a comment.

A small flock (3 Turkey and 1 Black Vulture) dining on a snake that Baron, our Black Lab, had killed near the pond the day before.

Demurely waiting his/her turn.

I learned out to get rid of the dreaded word verification over at Fuzzy Tales. Mine is gone now. http://keas-fuzzy-tales.blogspot.ca/

Well now that makes for a very happy Tuesday! :)

That word verification is weird.. It was nice of Baron to provide the vultures with a meal.. Great shots of the clean up crew!

Nice that they wait their turn. Reminds me of going to the video store not long ago and this guy jumped in front of me when the new lane opened and they said, "NEXT in line!" I think people could learn a lot from nature!

Rather grisly, but then again, with a vulture, that's part of the job description.

DJan said...

Cleanup duty indeed. That's what they are there for. I'm going to try to ignore your word verification, which sure enough, shows up. Geez!

Yeah, the captcha thing is new, and I think it's supposed to make it easier for those of us inside Google as we don't have to type it -- at least in theory.

I've never heard a vulture described as "demure!" I was wondering what was happening with everyone having word ID all of a sudden - hope this goes away soon! I checked on my settings and no word ID is selected, but I'm wondering if people are having to do it on my blog, too.

Our photos said...

That's nature. Very nice !

Inger said...

I selected Embedded yesterday and it seems to work well. I used to have it and don't know why I changed.

The vultures are such useful birds, here in the canyon ravens perform the same duties. You never see anything dead around here.

Dearest Theresa,
Well, if I hadn't had an appointment I could have made some great photos of three vultures sitting across from our road, up in a tree and ready to devour a run-over squirrel that was on the side of the road. Would have loved to capture them on camera!
You did well and yes, they only make life's cycle round; they are the garbage collectors.
Hugs,
Mariette
