Hi Tex, I admire the variety of birds you have around the pond on R*A*R. The fact that you are there, capture the action, and share with us makes it awesome. John

I'm surprised to see this roadrunner up close and no stranger to your deck. A fine series. My view of a roadrunner is obviously skewed by too many cartoons! :-)

Oh Roady I'm so sorry I ate your Grandpa years ago. Sure wish I had a zoom lens to capture those birds at the ranch. They run so fast I can't get a picture of them.

Doesn't it have eyelashes to die for??? I'm afraid I've seen the last of the road runners around my neighborhood. They've taken out all the trees around us now. You are quite blessed.

Those silly birds always remind me of a teenager with spiked purple hair and too many piercings to discuss! They are definitely the "Rock-Stars" of our feathered friends.

Love those goofy birds! As my kids would say, he's "adorkable."
Learn something new from you today. I have always assumed a roadrunner is as big as an ostrich. Blame it on the Road Runner cartoon that I watched in my youth LOL

"la di dah" has a bit of a Protestant Irish look in his eye . . .(a stretch, I know . . .)
Dearest Theresa; What a lovely bird the Roadrunner is♡♡♡ I still remember I smiled a lot when I first saw him in your pictures p:-) Wondered "Egads!" is used by men as the way man and women are quite different in Japanese.Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*

Love that you got close ups. What long eye lashes you have road runner. All the better to woo you with. The baldy patch makes it look kind of prehistoric.

awesome shots!!! So Close :-}}Beeep Beeeep!!!!
A beepin fine post.
I think this is really a very nice bird and must already alching when I see him lol .....
oh my goodness, he's so pretty, but also somehow the dorkiest bird I have ever seen and I think I need about 8 of him just hanging around my back deck looking derp and majestic. :)
He is so goofy cute. I love that expression. You got some good shots!
Wow... you sneaked up pretty close to that guy....hahahhaha.........
I love the close-ups of the face and feathers, such interesting colors in the feathers on its head. And the multi-colored stripe behind its eye looks very punk. With the wispy little feathers around its eyes and bill, it reminds me of an emu a little. I used to see them in my yard in San Diego when I lived on a canyon, they would perch on my back fence then sail off down the slope.
Yikes, I nearly missed it...the Roadrunner, always such fun to see when you post these guys!
