A Wild Bloom Break from Winter

We had a string of gray and drippy days (not complaining, we needed the rain!) but I need a bit of color infusion. Here's a few random shots from last May.

A blooming Prickly Pear Cactus that grows up near the house
and a happy bee.

Just around the country corner, this profusion of roses(?) spills over a fence area.

A bright Indian Paintbrush blooming along the driveway.

A few Firewheels aka Indian Blankets aka Gaillardia bloom along the driveway, too.

Okay, quite a few Firewheels bloom here each May. :)
A few Brown-Eyed Susans join them, along with some Bee Balm.
More Bee Balm up near the barn.
And some Horse Nettle
There. I feel better! :)

I need some help. I see you have a meme Rubbish Tuesday. Can you tell me how I get to join this one. I get told to contact the owner, but I'm not sure how.

I loved the flower, except that last one. I fight with those a lot.

So beautiful!

I've been collecting pictures of flowers from the Northeast (D.C., Va.) for a few weeks.

The poor things seem to think our mild start to winter means spring.

Sad to say...NO! (Not to mention, BRRRRRR! It got seriously cold today.)

Shivering with cold in the unusually frigid winter, your post is an escape to the dream of May. TV news reported that a storm brought rare snow to Southern California and the Southwest, but Texas doesn’t seem to be affected by snow storm but rain. Wish you a healthy and happy 2015 ahead.
