Good Fences #42

One gate for you today. I'm not sure if this is AltMar Ranch or Al + Mar (as in names of co-owners).
With a bit of holiday trim remaining.
I think it is Tal + Mar, actually!
Here's the link-up!

1. Link in a post featuring a photo or photos of fences or gates.
2. Link back to Run*A*Round Ranch Report in your post or use the badge code to display the Good Fences button in your post that automatically links back here.
3. If time allows, please visit some of the other participants and comment on their shared posts.

Thank you!

I like the wagon wheels. Believe it or not, some fences and gates here in Ontario have wheels for ornamentation too. I should get out an photograph them sometime. ;)

Love the wheel and the holiday wreath. I wonder what it took to hang it up there?

Nice gateway. I'd vote for the owners' names.

Upon second glance, it might be Tal + Mar.

Texas makes it in their huge gates. No doubt about it!
I think this one might belong to Al and Mary . . .

Nice gate. I think it's Albert and Mary. :)

The holiday trim adds a bit of festivity. Altho I am usually startled when I see decorations in a warmer climate around the holidays.

Karen S. said...

Either way it's a nice welcoming to their ranch. I especially like how they set their wagon wheels, not a common way of doing it that I've seen. They really stand out.

We have lots of neighbors that have wagon wheels placed about around here but they often get lost in plain view!

A fine decorative gate. In combining the names, they made the result a hard to read combination. The gate looks very well done.

I am going to go for the "+" sign as all of the other letters are capitals ... But whchever it is (and we may never know) it is a nice inviting gateway to someones ranch. Great post, Theresa ...

This is a nice gate + fence combo. I like the fact that the wheels are used in the design. I think I would consider using the 'Iron Horse's' wheels, if I had a ranch gate/fence to design.

Have a Wonderful Day, Theresa!

Peace :)

Ida said...

Great Gate. I like the name and the fact that they decorated for the holidays. The wreath was fun, wish you'd taken a side shot of the gate. - The Wagon wheels are fun and the winding road leading into the place seems very inviting.

Yes, in agreement with your vote :) Neat fence, and love the trees behind it.. especially the one on the left that is similar to some that I've admired at the entrance to English Bay. Something about the way the branches fan out to greet the world :) Thanks for hosting, TexWis.

Love the wagon wheels on each side. You have just reminded me that I need to get out there and look for some more fences!

Our fences are pretty buried and cold. What a cold few days we've had. I hear it's been cold south, too!

KB Bear said...

That is a super gate! So tall, yet not too imposing.

We had some very rich people move in about a mile away. They put up a huge tall wooden ranch gate, which was felled by the 94 mph wind gusts the other day. The locals are trying hard not to snicker... (big gates just aren't normal around here - maybe because of the wind!)

Mariette VandenMunckhof-Vedder said...

Dearest Theresa,
No doubt it is Tal + Mar and that looks nice together.

I'm voting Al + Mar. I think I forgot to link up. :)

Linda said...

Nice gate but it bothers me that the name is not clear. Could be Ital+Mar or Hal+Mar too.

Stephanie said...

Love those wheels. I will be joining in next Thursday for a fence shot.

Paul said...

Hmm, love a good mystery!

There are definitely two letters before AL+Mar could it be TTAL+MAR or perhaps LIAL+MAR or was it once an H that got broken which would have been HAL+MAR...

Beautiful entrance gate anyway!

Jo said...

hi Theresa, I finally managed to link up! Those names could mean anything ! I had wagon wheels in walls supporting my electric gate at our home in SA. We had to break them down last year to install an electric fence. Sadly. Hope you're having a great day. Jo

Nice gate and joining of the names. Love scenes like this and we have many around us too.

Maybe they need to paint the actual letters n a contrasting color so people can read their gate. Or maybe it was painted long ago and wore off--LOL!

It looks very beautiful.

I love these; Texas does these really well.
I will re-join Good Fences soon. The year started off hectic...unplanned bathroom re-modeling, deadlines, Bill's truck broke down, etc. Life happens.

I just love these uniquely styled ranch fence entrances. reminds me of that Dallas TV show.
I got a great fence shot today - but we had company so I will have to save it for next week. :)
