Good Fences #43

A rather grand old place in a nearby small town with leftover seasonal decorations to catch the eye.

The sign says: Jesus is Calling
The fence definitely looks decorative, too, and not necessarily utile.
Here's the link-up!

Behind the fence is an impressive looking home. Love the gingerbread trim at the top of it and parts look like tin. Considering the sign complete with a cross cutout, I wonder if this is a parsonage. Seems funny how the chimney goes to the roofline and then stops.
I have to smile - I have left over ribbons today too. :)

Beautiful old home. Did you feel, as I did, that it deserved a more picturesque fence??

A great fence and that house is very impressive.

Beautiful house. This is my favorite architectural design. And the fence looks as old as the house. I'm ready to move in!

This reminds me of a charming house we stayed in during Thanksgiving a couple of years ago. We found it on VRBO and it made for such a memorable family holiday!

I went town hopping last weekend, but everywhere was snowy! This looks really warm! I like all their red bows!

...I guess my first comment didn't go through.

I love this house!!

Kate said...

It is a large and well-maintained home for someone who wants the world to know their values. The fence to me seems somewhat non-descript for the size of the house. I would think it could be a bit bigger, yet it is attractive, too.

Yup, Good Fences!

PS, I remember someone making homemade cocoa mix when I was a kid too! Can't remember if it was my Mom or a friends Mom.

i like the construct of the balcony above the porch. wonder if the rooms inside, though, are all separate partitioned rooms without veering into an open gathering space?

I love this style of home- it reminds me of old southern plantations, even though it is not quite the same type. Is that a porch off to the side?

Gert said...

Love this! Between the fence decor and the house, (especially the saying!) this is a great fence post...(no pun intended!)

Lovely old white painted house, with fences to match.

Oh ya, loving this huge house. Beautiful with the white fence and bows. Blessings Francine.

John @ Sinbad and I on the Loose said...

It is a distinctive fence but as it isn't really serving any purpose like keeping something from coming in or out, I think the house would look better without the fence. It seems to detract from it's grandeur.

Love the huge, old, white house and the large red brick chimney on the side. I like the fence too, it looks like a wire fence, painted white. I wonder if that red brick chimney means they have a huge fireplace inside.

Looks more like Old South than Texas, but fun to find something different . I wonder if the sign is permanent or part of the leftover Christmas decorations. Either way, a bit odd (IMHO ).

A beautiful home to be sure! wow - I just love that kind of architecture.
