Mixing It Up

We're getting our winter birds now, like some grackles, blackbirds, juncos and goldfinches.
Female Red-Winged Blackbird
They're mixing in with our year-round residents, like the Eastern Bluebirds

And return again.

Such a happy shot. I'm always amazed at the popularity of your bird bath. I've seen only one or two birds at our baths. Of course we have cats around here and a ton of squirrels, and then there are the mean mocking birds.....well, maybe I shouldn't be surprised we have few visitors ;)
Thanks for sharing your pretty little feathered friends.

I haven't seen any bluebirds here lately. Maybe they got smart this year and headed south. A few usually try to stay through the winter. They are my favorites, but the beautiful red cardinals and goldfinches are right up there on my favorites list. Beautiful photos!

Red winged blackbird...really?? I would never have guessed thar in a hundred years. We see the male in South Dakota as we buzz along the highways! Normally, on a single weed sticking up in the ditches or on the electric wires. Love those blue/painted birds.

All the birds at your feeder are so cute, but the blues and peach/coral of the bluebirds are fantastic!

Margaret said...

The goldfinches remind me of baby chicks. I have a few at my feeder. The bluebirds don't come to my feeder but do use my birdbath sometimes. I need to put one further out from my house to attract them I think. Love your busy bath!
