Pretty Heron shots! And I found the Whistling duck right away.. Happy Sunday!
Maybe he thinks that's not his best side you are taking pictures of! Nice shots, no matter what he thinks.
Good thing you still managed to capture it, even though it's so shy.MersadMersad Donko Photography
This shots are always pretty!Nice SundayCrissi
at least he had sunshine to stand in. i am now wondering if birds do get cold
Lovely heron! They are very gracious.
A wonderful bird. Regards.
A couple of weeks ago I had gone for a late walk and then sat all bundled up on the porch to watch the moon rise. It was cold and beautiful and clear... and overhead a big ole heron flew silently over in the dark. It was such a beautiful experience... Thank you for the early morning reminder. And, the bonus Whistler. =) blessings ~ tanna
Beautiful Heron, love the pond life.Francine.
I love the one with the whistling duck in it :)And the last one he is pretty plushy :))Have a fine sunday!【ツ】Knipsa
Mr Heron looks a bit shy but he gives you a couple of poses for your photos.Happy Sunday.Hugs,JB
A great poser! An avian supermodel!
Evolution has done some interesting work on these birds. Nice pics Tex.
Soft and silky pretty heron, even if he is a little shy. :-)
What a cutie!
Well, it's cold and slushy here, and that warm sun makes me wish were in Texas. ;)
Tucking his neck in!
Ze zijn altijd een geweldig mooie verschijning in het landschap.
The Heron bird looks shy but also so beautiful!Great images Tex!Dimi...
Oh my goodness. This GBH looks even shyer than the usual!
those whistlers don't want anyone else to steal the spotlight!!this heron does appear shy, they are skittish. here they usually spot me as soon as I spot them and I have to snap quickly or I am out of luck!!!!
They seem to be familiar friends, each going about their own business.
No doubt he is cold- it's freezing! LOL! Nice shots, and I see your cute little whistler. ♥
The Herons are such ungainly looking birds. Somehow this bird looks out-of-place in a woodland area rather than near the water. A fine series!
I see that little duckie.....I think the Heron is just plain COLD...
Haven't seen one around here for a spell..pond's frozen over.
Beautiful photos of the heron. Also a Whistler in the foreground.Well done !!
Love the photo bombing bird.
He's such a pretty sight on the edge of your pond! Love these!
Cold or not, that's a majestic bird and how neat to have him at your pond.
Ungainly though they might look, herons are majestic birds.
Such a beautiful bird! He looks so elegant!!
Beautiful! Probably cold. I've noticed my dog curls up really tightly when she comes in from outside and it's cold. She'll make sure her nose is covered.
They are a beautiful creature to me, in all their little movements. I can't wait to see some again once winter finally leaves.
Hope the ones I will see soon are not that shy! Nice shots.
Lovely Heron and the Whistling Duck, beautiful.
I think we should administer a Myers-Briggs test to see if he's really shy or just faking it. :-)
Hi Theresa, Yes, Great Blue Herons do tend to be wary of people and quite shy. Great pictures! Have super nice coming week!
Smart bird. I would not be in the water today.Great shots.
Little fella is a juvie which is probably why he's a bit shy! Nice shots! :-)
Pretty shots of your shy heron.
They are such loners but I like to think they enjoy their solitude. Lovely photos of this beauty, TexWis.
Took me a bit, but I found it. :)
Hard to imagine being stuck out in this weather!
Nice shots of various poses. :)
Nice shots of an elusive bird.
Beautiful bird.I admire him, for me it is not seen.Greetings.
Love hanging with you by the water. Great titleALOHA from HonoluluComfortSpiral <3
Cool that you managed a Whistler in the same shot as the heron.
I think you might be right about the cold part. If the weather there is like the weather here in FL, that heron needs a jacket.
The story of my life, when I take pictures of animals, they turn their head away.Greetings,Filip
Wonderful photos, which pretty heron!
Love the Heron and a glimpse of the Whistler
Looks like a good place to get out of the cold. No sun here again today but no drizzle either.
Shyness would be an interesting twist as I have found these birds to have some serious attitude. Of course up here they most likely have far more exposure to humans.
Maybe SHY and COLD!
he is sleepy noy shy
Maybe the shy heron doesn't like being whistled at.
Nap time! ;-)
Had one of those big guys in our back yard this morning but it was very skittish and I had to catch it going away.
Very nice !
Great images. I do love the shadow it creates on the winter grasses.AND...the whistling duck!!Thanks for sharing the link this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin'
T, nice! They certainly seem to get into some funny neck stretching poses!
Nice shoot! I love find the hidden object photos!Lindahttp://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com/?s=The+Adventures+of+Fuzzy+and+Boomer&submit=Search http://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com
Looking for some peace and quiet for a nap.
So beautiful. I like the colors too.
It doesn't like the paparazzi
That is a beautiful bird.
What a neat bird to see.
Aw, poor thing. I hate being cold.Have a great week!
❤ Beautiful shot of the Heron =0)
Might be shy, but he's certainly pretty.
Dearest Theresa,It might be shy, cold or just being under the weather like human beings have their ups and downs!Hugs,Mariette
She's lovely. I love the blue color against the browns and golds. I still have never seen one in person.
Meant to say I am sorry you lost your Dad on Jan. 3rd also. I'm sure that no matter how many years pass there's no dulling of the sense of grief though.
I almost never get to see Great Blue Herons, so it's a treat, even if he's shy or cold!
Those ducks sure do manage to get into every post! I love them. ;)
There's something peaceful about your photos, even the photo-bomb of the Whistler! :-)
awwwww poor guy
He does look shy. Maybe the photo bomber scared him?
Love the Heron!
I spotted a Whistler in the second shot!
Shy yes but grouchy too! Herons take their fishing very seriously and can be very cantankerous if anyone disturbs it...You got some nice pictures of this one!
Beautiful! I love Heron's.
Great shot. I need a better zoom lens. our blue herons are always near the weeds along the shore, some times perched on the shore station...just very smart about not getting close to civilization (and do you blame them?!)Jane x
Once a blue heron flew right past my sunroom window. I could see the details so plain. Of course I didn't have camera in hand. It was so surreal. Lucky you get photos! Love the photo bombing whistler. :)
awww, he looks a little lonely too. maybe he can get to know the Whistlers. :) hehe
One of our camera club members took a picture of a blue heron last weekend when it was snowing. What on earth he is still doing up here is the big question. Silly guy!
Great shots. Looks like shyness or puffed up to stay warm. Happy new week!
Shy may be... but great captures. :)
Probably cold, from the Weather Channel I've noticed you've been having some real cold spells.
Maybe shy and cold but totally cool looking.
Brr! I think he is wishing for warmer weather!
I love your Grandbubba! But your heron is my favourite.
Always nice shots!
Looks like he just woke up and the light is still too bright for his sleepy eyes! :)Lindy
He has some lovely colors.....
it dows look cold :)
This heron stands there fantasist itself on. I can also enjoy so here:-)
The heron does look like the weather isn't very suitable. You probably have a hard time getting a picture without a Whistling Duck! LOL
