Whistlers on Wednesday 109

I hung up the swinging platform bird feeder this season. It didn't take long for the Whistlers to discover it. I have to admit, it provides a lot of entertainment. Loads of photos. Scroll fast. And a short (quiet) cell-phone video at the end if you wish.

"Mine! All mine!"

"Oopsy-daisy!"

I wonder if ducks get motion sickness (sea sick)...
The smaller birds don't stand a chance! :)

Now, who else has a food dish that also provides entertainment (swinging)? Great pictures - love the ones on the ground looking up at those in the feeder!

Like figuring out how many folks you can fit in a Volkswagen Beetle.

They are all so cute.

Margaret Adamson said...

Now this has become a competition for your whistlers. How many whistlers will be able to stay on the swinging platform. So far it is only 3, they could do better. Love the video as we can see clearly their lovely white on their wings.

These are really fun images, with so much life and color behind them. The birds look like they are truly enjoying themselves, which is fun to see.

I love the way they're all looking up at it! Perhaps there's a new Guiness Book of World Records in your future-How many ducks can you get onto a feeder?:@)

Mary Cromer said...

Theresa, each of these are so entertaining and just awesome photography captured their great personalities. I love the ones where some birds are looking up at others already on the feeder. I would not get anything accomplished for hours, just observing these beautiful chaps~

Reminds me of a circus flying trapeze family.

Hi TWG - I can imagine the fun you had watching them .. I guess if they all get on - then the plate will swing and the feed will flutter to the earth ...

They are funny looking creatures with their big feet - and they look so put out at the other's intrusion ...

Cheers and a delight to see - Hilary

So funny! Looks like you might need some duct tape before long. I didn't have whistler's last year, but the flock of birds worn my little feeder out! Had to tape it together. lol!

Wonderful images! I like seeing their wings open with the black and white bars. They are so funny trying to hold onto the edges with their ungainly webbed feet. I tried dragging my finger across the mouse pad on the photo gallery and the motion of the ducks is cute.
