Whistlers on Wednesday 110

In addition to the new swinging feeder, the Whistlers are still enjoying the platter connected to the Folger's can atop the old bird bath pedestal, too.

A few photos from last year before I painted the Folger's canister.

I know, just holding it in place so it doesn't blow away in the wind. Sure. :)

They don't care about the Folger's can! It's a great place to eat. Great pictures. The one where one of the birds is still in flight is an especially great catch.

The first 3 photos are so cute. They are Synchronized Whistlers! I'm thinking you could enter them in the next Olympics. I know I'd rather see ducks enjoying a meal than some of the other stunts. :)

CelestinaMarie@SouthernDayDreams said...

Great pics and these guys know a good eating place when they find it!!
Great in flight shot too.
Happy Wednesday!

DJan said...

They are simply adorable! And yes they seem to move in synch pretty often. I love these birds. :-)

the expression on the one in the first photo with the red can is priceless... i can't believe the difference in a coat of paint...

Birdman said...

Nothing like a little Folgers in the AM, even for Whistlers. Do you sprinkle a bit for them in the platter?

William Kendall said...

At least they're well compensated for providing such enjoyment!

Lisa @ Two Bears Farm said...

The crash landing style pictures always amuse me :-)

nookworm said...

Never a dull minute when they come to feed. It looks like three's the limit on the platter.

joeh said...

Huge improvement with the paint.

Would it be insulting to call that a "redneck" bird feeder?

Linda R said...

Such wonderful shots.. Its been awhile since I have seen your Whistlers, I bet they are a blast to watch.

Hugs~

Bethany Carson said...

Sweet! However I'm inclined to think that the swinging bird feeder is a much more profitable place to eat--the whistlers can prepare for the circus and eat at the same time.

Irma said...

Beautiful pictures of the Whistlers as always.
They remain well balanced.
Best regards, Irma

I have to be gone today, but I needed the little shot of perkiness that I get from coffee and the Wednesday Whistlers. :-)

The first two pictures of the duck butts reminded me of the old duck tail haircuts of the 50s and 60s. So funny. They sure do like that bird bath.

Still only 3 Whistlers in the bird bath, I wonder will there even be 4!

Can't decide which is best, the butts view or the last peaceful one.

I like my Folger too in the morning. They are color coordinated with the red coffee can. Rather fitting that they perch on top.
Have a happy whistler day. -27°C or -16.6°F. here this morning.

Good thing you do Whistlers on Wednesday so I know what day it is :) Lovely shots. They always look so smug.

Karen S. said...

Of course they do! Build it and they will come! Something lots of cold weather folks around here need to know. It's so important to keep feed and water up for our winter friends, not so easy as in good weather- and hey, bunnies need water too!

Grandma Barb's This and That said...

Someone said they are synchronized whistlers. I was thinking the same thing. Nice butts in the 2nd photo.

Rose said...

The last one looks like he is patiently waiting on the waitress to serve the food!

They obviously like the place atop the Folgers can.
Their goofy looks always make the very interesting. I'm glad they hang around your place all winter. Is that right?

And doing a good job of it, too. :-)

ImSoVintage Laura Walker said...

They do look pretty contented :)

carolann said...

I think they consider your grounds a bird play ground.

Did you see the news today. A dog
takes the bus and he knows the park is second stop. Gets off. Usually his master goes with him. Not this morning. So he went ahead of his master.

So that is why I said Park. Only I presume his is a dogs play park.

They seem to think it is a normal thing to do to hang out in that feeder thing atop the Folger. They are so cute! By the way, last week you posted a cute shot of them. If I may, could I borrow the shot to do a drawing. I am currently doing a 30 day drawing challenge and soon I need to do a bird drawing.
