A Sky-Featuring Tree

Or maybe a tree-featuring sky. Either way, they compliment one another wonderfully, especially at this time of year. One of three grand Post Oaks that grace our yard.

Linking to Skywatch Friday

Thanks, Hilary!

either way, you do have it right...just a beautiful scene. I love trees that are more round, if you know what I mean. Oh, then there is the big old sycamores...which are generally not round. and which I used to not like at all and now love.

Joyce Kilmer. 1886–1918

Trees

I THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.

A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;

A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;

Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.

Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Great pictures. There's something about bare trees with a big sky background that I like. I once took a picture of a dead tree that had turned completely white. I loved that picture. I went back a few days later and the tree had fallen. I was glad I got the pictures.
