Good alternating camera work! It's frustrating not to be able to get them both in on one shot, eh? But you captured some great, sharp images.

I saw one of these for the first time on a walk last spring. It was a treat.

Do they often come in pairs? And would they have a nest yet or it is way too soon? Lovely to have the 2 feeders there, and one final thought? maybe a courting couple.

SweetMarie said...

these pics are so clear! I love seeing all the details on these beautiful birds!

Hannah said...

I love woodpeckers, it would be so special to get to see them at a feeder. They are not birds I imagine eating seeds, but I did once have a Downy on my suet feeder last year.

Woodpeckers are so accustomed to hanging on the side of trees to eat that it probably never even crossed their minds that they could just stand like normal birds while dining at the Run*A*Round Ranch bird feeders!

I love the green herons and they eluded me for years ... Last summer we finally spotted some in the state park. Theresa, if I were as talented as you, I would be drawing all of the time. I am waiting for some drawings of the Whistlers ... but in the mean time ... I would love this drawing of the Green Heron.
