I personally think they're pretty cool looking.
Wow. You get the greatest photos!!!! Well done.
good garbage guys from the sky.. great shots. look at those FEET
Snickers loves to sit outdoors in the sun . . . "momma" won't be letting her out when the vultures are around!
Those are big birds ... and look at those talons! Nice pics Tex!
Yikes, those talons are a bit scary looking. They are not pretty birds in my opinion, but very efficient looking. :-)
I guess everyBODY likes a water view!
Looks like he keeps a good eye out--except when grooming.
You were able to get some good photos!
Cool pictures - repost around Halloween - looks spooky
i know a lot of people don't like them but i think they are pretty neat!
OMD those talons are impressive. Nice capture. Have a terrific Tuesday.Best wishes Molly
We have seen lots of vultures lately of every variety. Some with grey around their beak and some with red. Rick has captured a Mexican Caracara twice.
Not the handsomest bird I've seen, but certainly it is one of the most memorable.
We see these when there is a deer or some other animal lying along the side of the road in the ditch, in a flock of ugly birds.
they are such ugly birds. well, their heads anyway. those sleek black feather and hood, like the image of the grim reaper. all the need is a scythe.
Amazing birds and great photos!
They are fascinating to watch, although i don't envy them their role in nature.
Yes, they do have a certain charm to their little head in my eyes too.
great shots however I don't think he is going to win the beauty compotation!
Crazy looking birds. The ones we have around the west have red heads though.
Looks like pictures from a scary movie those Vultures, great pictures.Francine.
It's almost like they are wearing a mask.
Like seeing a close-up of these guys.
Great shots! I don't think I'd want to see him at night -- of course, as black as he is I probably couldn't see him anyway!!
He stands tall and stately letting others know he is in charge.
They are such ugly looking birds. They must have some redeemable quality, but I'm unacquainted of what it might be. :-)
"Hello there. Do you have any corpses you need disposed of? Vulture Scavenging Services are there for you twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. We're very discreet and ask no questions."
Neat photos of the Vultures! We get the Turkey Vultures here. There's a flock of them that perch in the top of a dead Cottonwood about a block from our house - every night. Kinda eery.
Wow these are beautiful pictures of the black vulture.Well done !!!
What a head! They should probably borrow my paperbag to cover it. Works for me.
Lovely bubbley Black Vultures.
Awesome looking birds!
These birds are like of scary to me....
They are pretty cool. How nice to have internet access where I don't have to wait forever to let the photos load! We get to enjoy this for a week.
Beautiful shots of this necessary bird. Those talons are huge!!
I really like this Black Vultures, very nice, excellent!
You had very special visitors again! Thanks for sharing these photos because I've never seen such birds earlier in our ZOO either.
Every time I see pictures of vultures I'm reminded of those two vultures in the Jungle Book movie. lol..Hugs,JB
Nice shots.I wonder how many people are going to find this post looking for racist material. You'd be surprised by how many perverts are interested in cranky old men!
Very cool bird! :)
Such great pictures! We sometimes see turkey vultures around here. Usually only one. Love the last photo of them in synchronized posture :-)
Wow!! I could never imagine seeing one of these birds in the wild. Incredible birds.

Great looking birds Tex!
Great shots of the Vultures!
They are very imposing. I would want to keep moving if they were in my yard.
Great pictures of ugly birds :)Not a bit of a squirrel in them ;)Have a fine day【ツ】Knipsa
Like the ones in Jungle Book? Or were they crows? Anyway, most vultures I've seen are unpleasant looking creatures; these look relatively handsome!
Great shots !
So impressive birds!Great captures Tex!Dimi...
Oh no ,those feets i dont want them to be on mee ,nice shots ,Nette
I would love to see one in person! You have some great images that show good detail.
Wow...these are some stunning shots of that not-so-beautiful bird! :)
Gorgeous birds! These come to your backyard? Holy spokes!Have a Beautiful Day!Peace :)
They look like a handsome, well kept group and it is good to have them around because they eat carrion and prevent the spead of disease. Awesome shots, Theresa ...Andrea @ FromThe Sol
they are spooky! lol
Keep movin' girl! We have those here -- in the Everglades there are signs saying they eat rubber (like the edging around car windows and tires...). You'd think in the swamps there'd be plenty of their usual diet....
I guess the Black Vultures are no big deal where you live, but last spring when we saw one fly over the Pembina Valley it was reason for tons of excitement.
they are rather interesting birds.
You have vultures where you live?!??!!? That is SO REDUNKULOUSLY COOL!!! sSeriously.. I'm kind of jealous! <3 - www.domesticgeekgirl.com

Now that's what you call a garden bird. Puts our raptors to shame.
Strange looking creatures!

Nice shots! I like seeing them close up like that.
I'm often afraid that if I fall asleep outside I'll wake and find vultures circling overhead.
Not a type we have around here.
don't like 'em...they are ugly and nasty and yet, your photos are ALMOST making them look decent.:)Somehow I knew you might llike Mexican food..all we needed was one of your Margaritas...:)
Great photos as usual. They're pretty cool and ugly looking at the same time.
That's quite an impressive bird.
In the 3rd pic, itlook like they are wearing a winter suit.white fur around the face. I thought vultures are babald. Thanks for the close up pic
Holy tamoly! They really aren't the most handsome species are they? But, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
The mobsters of the animal world. RUN BUBBA!
It's good to see water in your pond. These are great shots of the vultures. I think they're pretty cool!
I like vultures. We have turkey vultures here and I love their graceful flight, the gliding in the wind. Best of all, I love when they perch with their wings spread wide to soak up the sun.
Dearest Theresa,You got some excellent shots of these black vultures! There must have been a dead bird or whatever...Hugs,Mariette
Those are quite the birds, great pictures!
They're actually kind of handsome...from a distance--LOL! ;)
They are definitely more handsome than the red faced ones we have. You got some great close ups!
Very interesting! I have never seen one in life...
I love vultures. They are so misunderstood.
Creepy but cool!
Not my favorite birds, but they serve a very useful function, and you've certainly gotten some great shots. Please come share at http://image-in-ing.blogspot.com/2015/03/springtime-at-last.html

Great shots of the vulture, Tex. I wish they could move a little faster from the middle of the highway- there's been countless times I've nearly hit one.
