Dark-Eyed Juncos

I think the last of them headed north this past week.

I like their subtle color changes.

I like how you are well versed in the habits of the different birds. It's amazing how birds migrate so far each year.

I always love those guys on our bird feeders ... they look like dark gray birds who dipped themselves partway into milk. Or bird-friendly paint.

I like them, although I don't get great pics of them usually. They eat what falls from the suet feeder, but never use it. There are some that stay in W.V. year round.

Too bad they have to leave the area. But I guess that makes it all the more exciting to see them in their migrating season!!

Gorgeous bird. One I've never seen here. Thanks, as always, for sharing the link today at I'd Rather B Birdin'.

T, nice ones! They are still with us too! But will probably be heading north soon. They usually disappear for the summer months.

Love these babies -- we usually see them when we're in Oregon. I always wonder if the migratory birds you see are the same ones who head up there in the summer. I know from when we wintered on the Texas coast that your state is on both migratory paths.
