Whistler note to self:
 Sitting in your food...
still won't keep the varmints at bay.

Those varmints will find a way, won't they! A duck has to try, though.

Nice shots.

What's a duck to do??

DJan said...

What a funny look on that whistler. They don't seem very bright sometimes, but then again, sitting on your food might be a way to preserve it for yourself. :-)

Sandra said...

ha ha, i am not sitting in my food but my food is sitting all over my body in fat... maybe i should try sitting in my food and not eating it.

Linda Kay said...

Poor whistler...can't protect his food from those pesky squirrels.

Kovács Miklós said...

Hahaha.. really funny pair :)
Nice moment!

I know how the poor guy feels , I have to protect my lunch from the guys I work with all the time (never tried sitting on it though!). That tree rat doesn't really look like he needs another mouthful of bird seed!!

Mary said...

But it seemed like a good idea at the time! :)

joeh said...

Poor parenting, I was raised to never sit on my food. Maybe in college, but otherwise never.

I have plenty of squirrels and wish I had a Whistler to peck them.

ThreeOldKeys said...

If that Whistler had arms, in the second photo it would probably have its hands on its hips. "Do you see what I'm dealing with here?"

Pix Under the Oaks said...

Yep, you can always give it a try!

You can hide but they'll still find it.

I love the Whistlers and the Squirrel.

I always enjoy Whistler Wednesday. I like the one sitting on his food...perhaps he wanted some warm grain. :-) Not much will stop a squirrel when they want to get something to eat.

Gillian Olson said...

Those whistlers are born entertainers and the squirrel makes a fine costar!

Felicia said...

aaacccckkk, the old famous attack from the rear.

Lil does this when Marcy feeds the cats. When she thinks the cats have had enough food, she lays on it and eats the rest at her leisure.

What ever is a Whistler to do?

The Queen Jester said...

I'm not sure sitting in ones food is the most appealing idea, but it might be worth it if it worked...which it doesn't seem to be doing.
