They are definitely silly! I love the wood duck drive-by!
Adore the shot of him watching the Wood Duck drive-by!!!...:)JP
Cute captures of the Whistling Ducks. They do seem to be able to balance well. I love the reflections and the wood duck. Great series, enjoy your day!
Optical illusion time, in the second and third pic... Does anyone else see the horse head in the front of the tree truck? It's nose is a little crooked but I see eyes and ears too:@)
Those feet simply aren't made for perching! Also I can see the horses head, too!
The wood duck is quite handsome, but it's the whistlers who always make me smile. Great reflections btw.
Love all of the reflections here. These are the most personable birds and such interesting poses.
"Hey, look what I can do! It's a balancing act. Ahhhhhhh"
They are all fun, but the drive-by and the last one are favorites! :-)
They make perching look like so much fun, i wish i could do it!
Keeping watch on something! They sure are acrobats aren't they? Wonderful shots.Have a happy day. cm
Not easy to be a Whistler. :-)
Love those floppy feet!
My faves are the guy who looks like a kid thinking about going down the slide. These feet weren't made for perchin'But that's just what they'll do ...and one of these days these feet are gonna perch all over you
They must have seen some seagulls on posts and are trying to imitate them.Hugs,JB
Qvack, qvack. -Killroy was here
You can be goofy when you have good balance.
looks like they are candidates for the Whistler Olympics.. high diving and balance beam is what they should enter.. did the drive by wood duck have a video camera?
Greetings fans, and now for my next act....get ready....wait....Ta Da!
Nice acrobats! :)
Top of the World, Ma!~
Even ducks know how to play and enjoy nature. I like the one on the tied up gate.
Part Sea Gull?
You have to wonder what is going on when you see ducks... on a perch. A job for behavioral scientist.
Those whistlers look so relaxed and taking it easy! You can never take too many pictures of those charmers!
Stunning images of the Whistlers.Pretty clear and sharp pictures, my compliments.Best regards, Irma
Wood Duck drive-by is very funny!I have never seen ducks perch like the Whistlers. Granted, I haven't been around a lot of ducks, mostly Canada geese.
Those are cute shots.....
Got an eye on something.
Ah, always love your Whistlers!
They are "masters" at perching despite those huge feet. Amazing how well they manage these strange places to perch.
They were goofy looking, not like any other duck - but now that they are a regular item, I see them as lovable - not so much goofy looking, but acting. I was waiting for an Oops shot. HaHa.
They are adorable!
These are my fav at your stomping ground for these guys.Never get tired of them.
They do some goofy things, love the fence percher and the two reflections. Have a great day.
Goofy ducks and some amazing reflections.
I love your 'Such big rubbery feet for stick-perching!', it made me laugh.
Those Whistlers always make me giggle.Francine.
I guess perching is a requirement if you're a bird. Someone should write a children's book: "The Bird Who Couldn't Perch." Hmmnnn...
He looks like a little kid getting ready to embark on his first slippery slide ride!
Hi Tex, If it's Wednesday, it's gotta be Whistlers!!! What a neat set of photos. Luv the Wood Duck drive-by. :) Have a great day and thank you for the kind words on my Liebster Award post.
Fajne miejsce na zdjęcia:)
I loved your skinny chicken post, but there were so many comments I just didn't leave one. Now, here it is Wednesday...just in time for the favorite of the ducks!Lindahttp://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com
hij durft nog net niet van de glijplank af.

Great photos. Your geese are very photogenic.I love the reflections in the water.Regards.Lucia
love the "stump perchers" reflections!
Tex you capture some of the most amazing bird shots, I don't believe I've ever seen a Whistler before... thanks for sharing this, they look so adorable! Cheers.
These guys are so funny!
Silly kids. I like the one on the fence with the reflections in back!
I love whistlers but hey are so greedy
It is impressive that they would choose to perch on things with such big gomby feet.. but I'm glad they did, it made for some wonderful photos
Silly ducks, making fun, having fun....I thought we might have a liddle slide action as well!!
Nice to see these cute ducks sit atop a pole :-) Also nice reflections in the water.
Dearest Theresa,They sure do have enormous feet!Cute photos.Hugs,Mariette
Those are lovely picture. ☺ Nearly that you can read what they mean when the Whistlers are looking everywhere.I can see a turtle also ☺
I can imagine how much fun it is to sit and watch (and photograph) these silly ducks and their antics!
Lovely photos! Are these wild or domestic ducks?
great balancing skills they have!
Lookin fantastic duck standing on pieces of tree in water and nicely reflected in the Nieh. Regards.
You can almost see the duck's thought processes as he tries to find a way to slide down that log!
Hi Theresa, Oh those wonderful Whistlers! Silly, pretty, fun ducks! Have a great Thursday tomorrow!
Goofy and adorable is right! Wonderful, fun series!!
That is nice, I love the reflections ! It makes me wonder what on earth they are doing.....
They pick the most seemingly uncomfortable places to perch, don't they?
They do look funny with those big goofy feet!
I don't know how in the world they hang on- must have some awesome powerful muscles in those feet! :)
Always entertaining. Cool shot with the wings uplifted.
And then you have the king of goofy birds! haha! Love the wings open shot!
Nice photos, yes, I love this fun sequential
Oh, they are so entertaining! They certainly don't like to get their feet wet! I wonder if they are staring at their own reflections! I guess when you are that cute....
Quite a balancing act going on there!
One looked almost afraid of heights in a couple of photos!
It is amazing ducks don't fall with those big feet. I love Wood ducks they need to drive by your camera more often.
They must be great to watch.
You should write a play called, "Whistler on the Roof", dear Theresa! These are some super shots of the super cute friends.Have a Wonderful Day!Peace :)
fun!I love the flagpole eagleALOHA ComfortSpiral =^..^=
Your whistlers are big show offs!
Love the reflections!
They are adorable and silly at the same time.
Maybe they are pole sitters!!! If I ever wished I could read a bird's mind...it is these Whistlers. I would love to know what that first one is thinking.
They must be fun to watch in person . . . I love seeing them in your photos . . .
Pretty clever and funny too. I'm like Rose---what are they thinking.MB
I kept thinking that the one was going to walk down the "ramp." Sure looked like he was thinking about it but couldn't get up his nerve. That shot of the one on the fence with the reflections of the other two was pretty neat.
Love the wood duck driving by ignoring the balancing act--LOL!
They wouldn't be able to perch on half the places they do if it wasn't for those two big pink rubber fly swatters they call feet. :)
Some of those poses looked like yoga/balance poses. Silly things!
Wonderful series, Theresa, great reflections!
Lovely reflections! It looks like the ducks are admiring them too. :-)
The first few shots look like he's contemplating jumping in or staying up on the stump.
I still think it's funny to see those feet perched on the fence and I LOVE the reflections! The water was perfect for it, so smooth and glassy!
Wonderful series. beautiful ducks.
Dearest Theresa; Oh, I LOVED your caption'Such big rubbery feet for stick-perching!'♪ And the pair perching shots brought my reddish cheeks with bit of rash smiles (*^_^*)Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*
This time i admired the water. It's so clean. No pollution at all
Funny series :) As I see it has a quite comfortable slide :)
Aren't they the best? Great photos, and always so very entertaining Ms. T
Great balancing acts!
Your photos made my laugh! Especially love the drive-by caption!
wow! you got great reflections in this series... and funny attempts from the whistlers
Love their little duck feet on the rail. :-)
I take a bath, or not;))
Looks like they have a game of King of the Mountain going on there!
T, great series of shots!
The drive-by! Lol! I SO wanted to see that whistler use the old log for a slide though. ;)
They do look cute perched out there on the stumps.
love the reflections! these ducks just crack me up!! they are goofy and I love them like I love my silly squirrels!! :)
These are such charmers - their big flip flop feet lol :D)
