Good Fences #75

An entrance gate with nothing to say (I'm guessing the name was removed from the overhead ranch bar).
Here's the link-up!

Good morning, Tex! It seems sad with the name missing. The little wheel are cute, but it needs a name. Great find. Thanks for hosting, have a happy day!

HOOTIN ANNI said...

new owners perhaps?

I chuckled at your heading. Maybe they're shy. ;-) Still, I like those barrels off to the left. I wonder what's in them.

Brian King said...

It may not have anything to say (obviously a male gate), but the little wagon wheels in the corners are nice! ;-)

Good morning! Looks like it is all ready for the new owners!
Those are cool. We don't have that many like that around here that I see. A few but not many.
(I hope I got the link right today. lol)

Have a great day, Tex!

How nice! This is only intermission The display changes every time a new critter settles down. Best thing is no commercials between acts!

Looks sturdy but could use a little personality.

Good Morning! Looks like a nice entrance. Maybe it has new owners and they haven't put up their name yet and spruced up the place.
Have a great day!! cm

Simple yet beautiful gate and fence!

EG CameraGirl said...

Hmmm. Maybe the owners of this place do not want to be found. ;)

eViL pOp TaRt said...

Are they changing the name, or fixing the sign?

Simple, but beautiful gate.

The gate with no name! I like it... ;-)

No Name Ranch?

I find it odd that folks put fences so close to the driveway, it seems very narrow.

DJan said...

Kind of plain but pretty. Maybe one day you'll see it with a name on there. :-)

Revrunner said...

Some leftover Texas crude in those barrels maybe? :-)

LV said...

Thank goodness we all have our own taste. It would be bad if we all liked the same thing or person. Plain and simple.

Karen S. said...

It would be interesting to see later if they fill in the space! I like the little wagon wheels too!

Jacquelineand.... said...

Maybe it's just a blank space...

It looks like a good home is awaiting some lucky family.

Rose said...

I was going to say someone forgot their name! LOL I do like the simpleness of it.

Sandi said...

Love those ranches with names like Southfork! I hope they are just fixing this sign.

The "Bar None" Ranch?

Marit Sønstebø said...

Nice photo! Maybe new owners?

Terri @ Coloring Outside the Lines said...

I guess that is better than someone having to drive into their home with a stranger's name for sure. The wood slats are an interesting touch to the metal fence, replacing that sucker rod, I guess. Love that long drive.

Birdman said...

Part of the 'invisible' fence, I guess.

Christine said...

Perhaps it is a change of ownership and they will hopefully breathe some new life into this ranch.

thanks for hosting a great meme!

It would be nice to get something up there...maybe more generic this time. Enjoy your day sweet friend and thanks for the party! Hugs!

It will be interesting to see what it looks like a few months down the road.

Carola Bartz said...

A name would be nice - it sure has potential! I like the red slats, they give some pop!

Nancy Chan said...

It looks like a nice gate with neat fencing. I wonder what the two barrels are for.

Pix Under the Oaks said...

That's sad, it needs a name!

Andrea Priebe said...

Ah, I am # 39 today ... just a coincidence as that is my age, ... And has been for many years, Ha! It makes me wonder why the name came down ... is it that someone new lives there and hasn't replaced the name yet, or that a new sign with the old name is going up. Or, is it a secret ... we can't know who lives there. That makes it mysterious and maybe a little creepy. But, it is a nice, well kept fence in the end.

Perhaps they are working on a new logo to place atop the gate. Or, if the ranch is being sold, the new owner will want smelting different. My ideas are probably wrong. ! :-)

Sandra said...

maybe it has new owners.. it is ready for what ever they want to add.

S. J. Qualls said...

Maybe the name is all he got to keep in the divorce settlement?

happywonderer.com said...

Makes you want to fill in the space with something. Wagon Wheel Ranch, Two Spoke Ranch, Wide Open Ranch, Curved Air Ranch, Come on Down...
Have a great day!

Cheri Savory Spoon said...

Maybe someone new is moving in and wants to live there a bit to find a good name for it. Lots of people name there houses around here.

CatTales said...

Wishing you a nice day.

barbara l. hale said...

It's one of those "fill in the blanks" possibilities. Or maybe they are in the midst of changing their name.

Shug said...

Lol.... Perhaps the owners are making a clear statement..."we have nothing to say". Great gate anyways

Julia said...

Maybe it's a severe case of procrastination. The name never made it up there.
Hugs,
JB

William Kendall said...

I'd wonder at new owners, or perhaps a new sign.

Sylvia K said...

Great fence even without a name, but like the others, my first thoughts were a sign or a new owner!

That is about as minimalist as you can get.

Ida said...

I bet you are right about the name being removed. - I loved Brian Kings comment about it being a "male gate" - I too like the wheels on the side of the gate.

jeannettestgermain said...

Even though the name is taken out, have noticed that the land of all the gates and fences you posted are neat and clean. Here, when I drive by some the smaller farms I see a a lot of "stuff" laying around ...

Joseph Jameson-Gould said...

Weird. It's like the gate is wearing a hat that hasn't been coloured in yet!

Felicia said...

private kind of people. Wonder what the barrels are for?? Garbage maybe.

messymimi said...

A way to keep people guessing, perhaps?

Penelope Postcards said...

The overhead nameless bar looks like the outline for a rainbow.

RedPat said...

Maybe they can't agree on a name for the ranch!

Margaret Adamson said...

It s 'hole is the sign' ranch! Thanks for hosting and I hope you are keeping well.

Debby Ray said...

Awww...that's kinda sad. Maybe the place isin transition...hope so! Have a good weekend!

Debbie said...

nothing up top!!!!! that's me today, it's all a blurrrrrrr!!

maybe they ran out of $$$ and could not finish it, or perhaps they can't make up their mind on what to name the place!!!!

This gate is very nice! :) I greet from Poland and I invite on my blog! :)

Maybe someone in there is in a Federal Witness Protection program.

T, in the process of a name change! Still looks like a decent spread!

Simple but quite good. And that green.... beautiful!

Interesting that it has what we call a Texas gate.

I don't have much to say either!

KB Bear said...

We have a neighbor who bought the ranch of a family who had lived up here for more than 100 years. Everyone called the Ranch by the name of the family. The stupid new owner insists on calling it "Wild Divine". Surprise, surprise - the "Wild Divine" sign hung on the top of a big gate like in your photo keeps "disappearing". I snicker every time I see it gone.

Paula said...

I'm guessing the barrels are for trash that sloppy drivers throw on the side of the road. Been there and done that along the ranch road. Picked up the trash not threw it out,

Dearest Theresa; I agree and I enjoyed the beautiful fence with varieties of design for the name. But still, this ranch got wonderful entrance and greenery♡♡♡

ps. Thank you very much for your sweet comment♪ And I really appreciate the word 'wall decor’. I was wondering how I should say it in English p:-) I revised the part(*^_^*)

Sending Lots of Love and Hugs from Japan to my Dear friend in America, xoxo Miyako*

The "No Name Ranch"... Pretty weenie gate, don't think you could get a cattle truck, combine or dump truck in through this gate!

Stephanie said...

I am thinking perhaps new owners.

Black Jack's Carol said...

I think I see a truck at the end of the driveway. Maybe, they are waiting for the name to "find" them.

Perhaps the future holds a name. Guess we'll see!

Hi Theresa
At last I've got some photos with fences I can share on your Good Fences!
It seems that a lot of ranches have those impressive entrances in your area. Here in New Zealand most farms just have farm gate and a cattle stop!
Enjoy your weekend!

Hi Tex, Likely the property changed hands and the old owner took the sign for themselves both to better market the place and for sentimental reasons (my guess anyway). Have a fantastic weekend!

Halcyon said...

Maybe the ranch has a new owner? Hopefully something will come up there soon. It's a little sad the way it is.

Midmarsh John said...

I'm fascinated by the two barrels / bins.

I'm thinking they must have sold the place. And the new owners removed the name or the old owners took the name with them.

I've taken a prolonged vacation from blogging this summer, but now that Fall is here I'm checking back in. I know, not Fall down your way, but definitely in the air here. Gotta wonder if there ever was anything in that space over the gate--maybe they just couldn't agree on what to put there.
