Another Look at the Tree Frog

A couple of weeks ago, I posted the little tree frog that hangs near the front door, often sleeping daily in the plastic watering container I keep for the front flowers. Here's a few more cell phone shots of my buddy.
Hiding in his favorite spot

Hanging on the house siding after I made him get out of the watering can.

Love his little sticky toes.

Another evening when I plopped him out onto the Lantana plant I was watering

I totally see a resemblance to Kermit the Frog

I don't like frogs. But in Poland we have a lot of them and one species lives in the tree..

we have one that early evening till dawn butts up against our side of the front door right up against our brick front wall. i think there must be warmth emitting from that spot. i see her when i'm taking my mini poodles out to go potty three two or three times a night. i pet her on the nape of her back while waiting for our kids to do their thing. she bloats up as in one was getting their back scratched. beautiful little frog/toad.

I wonder what they think about.

Hilary said...

Oh how cute is that! I'd never seen one up close and personal before last year when one spent the better part of the night clinging to the kitchen window. Belly shots! Great pics, Tex.

Poor thing, you keep evicting him. You need a second can.

He probably felt much safer from predators in that watering can than he does in that tree. He is cute, though. I always had a thing for frogs when I was a kid.

Ah.. in your shots (as opposed to mine), I get a great view of the toes. They are so interesting! And cute! Your little fellow winks at you, I think. Wonder how he feels about your nerve in displacing him just to water the garden :) I'll be looking for our little guys the next time we are at Jericho, just to see how their toes compare. As for Kermit, I heartily agree :)

They are my absolute favorite amphibian, those sweet tree frogs.
Life's been a wild ride lately, but if memory serves me right, the last time you posted them hanging on your glass door, I may have commented that we've got one living on and around our front porch. I love it's sound coming in so close through the porch windows!
We've been finding ours hanging out in our hanging flower basket. Love the little lookout yours has from the watering can. Hope you are well Theresa!

Look at that little grin! He's found the perfect ranch to call home. :)

Kathy said...

Definitely a cute little guy but I wouldn't want to handle him. I've always been squeamish about frogs since I was a child. I hear tree frogs singing here all night long and a few evenings back when I went to close up for the night there was one stuck on the glass door. He was only about two inches long and was gone by morning of course.

HighPlainsFlyFisher said...

I love tree frogs, we have lots of them around home. We call them peepers and the noise they make is one of my favorite sounds to fall asleep to.
