Bathing Baby Blues at the Bowl

Eastern Bluebird family having late summer fun.
Juvenile Painted Bunting thinks about getting in there, but doesn't stay.

"Quit hogging the bath!"

"Stay out!"

"Or not..."

"Harumph"

Daddy Bluebird arrives in his bright blue togs.

Looking like a little wet mouse.

Or a drowned rat.

Or a whirlygig.

Quite the sprinkler action.

"Crazy kids..."

LOVE your bluebird photos AND your commentary underneath! So funny!
We have the bottoms of plastic flower pots on our deck for the birds. Recently, I saw on the Audubon website that they recommended this as an easy way to have water for the the birds. They must have gotten this from me! LOL!

Such pretty birds, and you got some great shots, as usual! Eastern Bluebirds are a treat here...we have them, but it can be hard to persuade them to nest. I think it's too built up, and they seem to love open land and fence lines.

I'm convinced bluebirds love the birdbath more than any other species. They really get down and get with it. These are great photos! You really captured some great facial expressions. Wait a minute. Do birds have faces. I suppose they do. Whatever, they were classic!

This is the sweetest little bluebird family ever! I've tried to attract these beauties, but they don't come. I think I need to find a low to the ground water bowl like you have. I saw one inspect the box I put up on the fence, but he didn't use it. Maybe next year! Anyway, these are fabulous photos and the commentary so funny!

Daddy is so handsome and the kids very sweet, except for when they argue :) I wonder about all the squabbling we've been seeing lately in the bird world. Perhaps, just the kids growing up and trying to find their place in the world. My last post didn't make it into the meme but I sure thought of your "tree frog" post when we came across some at Jericho. The very first ones we have seen, EVER! I honestly think your post somehow triggered those little guys to make an appearance :)
