They have to be the craziest birds ever, such a startled look.
Hi Theresa - I love the genus of its name "geococcyx" - amused me, also the fact it's a ground cuckoo. The colourings with the crest - are so well shown in your photos ... wonderful - cheers Hilary
Brilliant photos. Love that blue crest and flash of orange.
Cute is this crazy bird. I greet warmly.
Great photos of a very cute bird. The first time I saw photos of it - I think it was in a Disney movie and MANY years ago - I didn't think it could be for real!!
What a lively-looking bird.I love the splash of red and blue around the face and neck. Thanks for sharing. Jo
Fabulous images of the Roadrunner. It was good seeing 1 but another one turned up. Can you tell what sex they are? Hope all is well and you have a lovely weekend.
I just love the look on their faces, have never seen a roadrunner before, so thanks. Beep, beep
Love me some skinny chicken:@)
Fantastic images Theresa, so sharp and colourful. It's a bird that makes me smile,.. such a goofy expression on there faces.
I really enjoyed these great shots of the roadrunners! We don't have them here and I've only cartoons to go by but they do seem crazy!
They are lovely and so slim, I'd pay for head feathers like theirs, great shots, you must have so much fun taking your shots.
How fascinating. I have never seen a roadrunner before - except in the cartoons of course.
I always enjoy your shots of skinny chicken and I'm loving the green background bokeh!
Hi Tex,Beautiful series of photographs of this beautiful bird. All perfectly sharp photographed, my compliments.Best regards, Irma
Rather interesting bird. The only roadrunner I have seen is a cartoon roadrunner and I just love its speed. Beautiful poses of the roadrunner.
They're silly looking!
Fantastic roadrunner shots. I'm surprised you were able to get so many and so clear too.
Amazing birds.......love your photos!
They are so cute! :)
Double the fun with two Skinny Chickens!
That bird sure is a character...at least the photos make him/her look that way!
Hello, I would be so excited to see two of these Roadrunners on my deck! They are cool birds. Great shots! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a happy weekend!
Amazing looking birds... lovely caotures
Amazing pictures series!Happy weekend Crissi
You'd almost think they're mouth breathers the way they have them open so much.Great shots. Love 'em.
I didn't know the Roadrunner was a real bird. I was only thinking of the cartoon. Top pictures.Greetings,Filip
They're plotting how to take over the world.
They're delightful visitors!
Wonderful photos of that funny-looking little bird!
A pretty apt title, methinks.
They like to hang around with their beaks open, mostly. I wonder why. I think they are rather weird looking birds, but kind of fascinating, too. :-)
Gotta love that crazy bird.Hugs,JB
Fantastic pictures of that crazy bird, beep beep!!!!! Blessings Francine.
awesome fantastic come to mind. they are such funny birds and look like they are smiling. super shots for sure.
Oh, how I love your roadrunners. You're the only one of my blogging friends who has them, and I look so forward to your posts about them.
awesome captures t...you can really see the colors in these and the cool feather detail!!they do look a little nutty, confused...and the always look tired and out of breath, even in their eyes!!!goofy birds but goofy on your deck is better than goofy on someone else's deck!!!!
happy to see you today t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I love 'Roadrunner', the first 5 are the best.
Amazing! We had a pair but haven't seen them lately. Hope the coyote didn't finally win.
You've made me fall in love with the zany birds all over again!
The roadrunners look similar.Oh silly me, of course they must be similar.
It has very long tail and beak. We don't them in Poland
Do not know why, but have always been fascinated by these birds. When younger, cartoon, The Roadrunner, was my favorite comic. Enjoy the fall weekend.
Reminds me of my old High School Geometry teacher.
wat zijn ze slank, zijn ze soms ook zo snel?
❀ه° ·.Belos click!!!Parecem pássaros de desenho animado!...Bom fim de semana!Beijinhos.❀❀ه° ·.
I didn't realize the roadrunner was a real bird until your pictures. Glad to see him again.
Fantastic! Great color! The fourth one is my favorite! Awesome portrait!
You got some lean, mean shots. Nice.
What great lookin' birds. You did them justice.
Up close and personal, these birds are quite pretty. It's almost like having them here.
Oh such great shots of those "road runners". My parents had a road runner (Dallas) that visited them daily. They even named him, Orville.
A pair of roadrunners no less! I'm not sure I've ever seen two together. A lot of country folks don't like roadrunners because I hear they're known to steal chicken eggs and eggs from other small birds. Does anyone know if that's true?
Ah, he is a colorful fellow isn't he!!! Love them!
BEEP! BEEP! I hope you don't have coyotes also! Love those cute birds!Lindahttp://coloradofarmlife.wordpress.com
I always love photos of these goofy looking guys!
Wonderful photos! They're kind of silly looking birds.
Great series of this very cute and comical bird. I only ever saw one once and he was running so fast I didn't realize what I had seen until later.
Looks like these guys have plenty to tell you, too!
as I was flipping through, loving your shots, I was thinking how much they reminded me of...and then your comment. phuny
Those are some strange looking little birds.
Oh wow, what a fabulous bird! I've actually never seen him, except in cartoons.
There is something of the raptor in these birds!
What extraordinary pictures! I enjoyed every one of them. lol The Road Runner surely does live up to his reputation in your photos. Have a lovely day, my Friend! :D
I would love to see one of these guys some day! Great shots, Tex! ;-)
They do have a crazy look in their eyes!
They really are skinny! Great photos, T.
He looks very wary and really tough I wouldn't want to tangle with him.
Goofy indeed. I love that 3rd photo.
You are certainly blessed in having such delightful birds as neighbors!
Beautiful shots of the bird.
Cute, cute, and more cute!!!Even treated to having TWO of them on the railing. Lucky you. I'm thinking I do good if I have a fleeting glimpse of one in the brush land around here. They must be more common in your part of Texas.GREAT photos Ms. T
Real nice to see these intimate close ups!ALOHA ComfortSpiral (\__/)(='.'=)(")_(")

These Theresa, are the absolute best, topdrawer images you have shared yet of the awesome Roadrunners. I love the clarity of each one. Thanks for sharing~
There's something about these birds that looks more prehistoric than other birds, like they're small raptors.
You manage to et great photos of them - a bird many of us never see!
Pretty handsome for a roadrunner!
Great shots. These birds always make me smile.
These are great photos, Tex! I actually saw a roadrunner for the first time in years the other day- it ran across the road in front of me while I was driving.

I love these guys and these are great photos of them. I've never considered their likeness to velociraptors before. I will now never see them any other way, thanks. I mean that in a nice way.
Such wonderful captures!
When we lived near Los Angeles, our house was next to a park near the foothills. In the beginning before the tract was completed we would see road runners and tarantulas, but when all the houses were finished much of the wildlife disappeared, except for the coyotes who came across the road to look for loose pets. - Margy
Such a cool beautiful bird!
You sure got some nice pictures of these sketchy looking characters! :)
So homely they're cute as a bug's ear. :)
Wow! never a seen a roadrunner! Thanks!

I just love these photo's, the expression on the face is so good! All the best Jan
I will never get over that eye shadow!
It makes you wonder why Wile E. Coyote was so intent on catching one ... Handsome birds, but not much to eat.
Those are very nice photos. I did not know that road runners are real birds. I thought they were just made in for cartoons. We learn something new everyday indeed.
I only get to see a roadrunner over here...Love these shots!

I'm amazed they stand still enough for you to take those amazing pictures.Whenever I see them they are running across a road in front of me.
I was able to finally see one on my trip to Arizona!
Can you box up a couple of those goofy birds and send them North? I'd love to sit at the kitchen table each morning and watch their silly antics as I drink my morning coffee!!
LOVE these shots, T! Your crazy birds are the best. We moved the feeders when we got Jack so my birds are way out back. I think it's ok to move them back to my window now that he's 9 months old. I hope. I miss them and my skirls, too! How's life treating you?
