Love the simple entry with the rust!

cool, yes the hard to read was my first impression. Tells a lot about our mind. Reading before seeing :)

Thanks for hosting GF :)

Dearest Theresa; Oh, very HUGE farm with pretty entrance♪ Makes me wonder what kind of animal you can see there.
Today I was out all day for starting to deal with my late family's grave,Buddhist altar, etc (finally :-)
DO wish to visit friends but hubby waiting for dinner. From tomorrow, may be!

That is a hard name to make out. Good looking fence though. I like how the rusty white stands out against that pretty blue sky!

Morning Tex nice gate and I am so glad you showed the name it would have driven me crazy:) Hug B

I have to echo Buttons, thanks for showing a close-up of the name, it would have driven me batty otherwise!

I like the rustic simplicity of the gate, framed by all that blue. =)

What a nice entrance. I'm glad you zoomed in because I couldn't make out the name. It would love to see it all freshly painted- but that's me!

het lijkt een mooie plek.

Bethany Carson said...

That is hard to read, but quite the entrance and fencing! Thanks for hosting!

Nancy Chan said...

Nice entrance and fencing. It would be more outstanding if the letter is of a darker colour. It must have been a beautiful entrance when it was new.

Christine said...

It is a nice place and i especially like the white railings - hope they get around to painting the name sign again!
Thanks again for hosting! Have a great day!

Marit Sønstebø said...

Nice rusty sign!

4RRanch said...

Really had to zoom in on that one.

DeniseinVA said...

I like the entrance and agree, the sign is hard to read.

A Quiet Corner said...

You have such a wide variety of fences down there...it's unbelievable even though this one took me a while to decipher...:)JP

Kathy said...

Just needs a little TLC to get it back in ship-shape order.

I've been gone a couple of weeks and now I'm wondering who in the world gave you a Walter award! On my last trip I had to wear a big floppy hat and giant sunglasses and I decided I was a dead ringer for Maxine and had her attitude to go with the look! As we get older I think we have the right to be cranky occasionally, don't you?

CelestinaMarie@SouthernDayDreams said...

Good Morning Tex, Beautiful entrance and I like the hanging name sign even though it is hard to read. Thanks once again for sharing and hosting.
Have a great day. cm

Nice gateway. A bit of paint should sharpen it up. Joining in today for the first time in a while. Thanks for hosting Theresa. Have a great day.

Nice entry to the farm! I've seen several of these types of cutouts in rural NC and TX. Sometimes they are very hard to read. You took some good shots.

Andrea Priebe said...

Makes me want to whip out a can of spray paint and have at it ... that is a strain on old eyes, to say the least. Nice fence, however :)

Hi TJ! More wide open spaces in Texas. I feel like I know the Lone Star State because of my good blogging friends. THANKS!

John @ Sinbad and I on the Loose said...

You are right. I thought it read: Hay Flat Farm.

Uppal said...

The style hanging letters is something uncommon!

Wayne said...

That would drive me crazy, I would have to paint that sign.

Another super fence showing. You find some of the best. Of course, the way you use your camera does everything justice. Hope all is well with you.

I have to agree with some about paint - besides, painting would preserve ...
Neat entry, long driveway.

Sylvia K said...

Great fence/gate even though it could use some new paint! I love the long driveway! Hope your week is going well!!

That sign sure is hard to read, but it's a very lovely way to display it! Great pictures!

Revrunner said...

Must be some TALL critters on that farm.

Kenneth Cole Schneider said...

Thanks for zooming in on that sign. I was just running to get my magnifying glass! Nice fence and gate, in any event!

don said...

I like your progression of gate pictures as we close in with more detail. The fence and entrance quality is very good. Too bad they didn't have more thought to their name sign. Google played around with my name today on Good Fences.

Ida said...

It was fun seeing the progression of the photos as you got closer & closer to the sign. - This has a lot of fun details, like the rusty side, the spikes on the fence posts and of course the hanging letters which spell out the name of the farm owners.

Filip Demuinck said...

Nice but the name needs a bit of paint.

Greetings,
Filip

Midmarsh John said...

Must have looked really good when it was new.

Susan said...

Glad you interpreted the name, I would never have been able to do that. It is a great entrance though isn't it?

Lynn said...

I thought of you yesterday when we passed a fabulously odd fence, I wasn't quick enough to take the photo and at the point in our adventure 'somebody' wasn't in the convincing mood to do a u turn for a photo :-0. This one is very impressive and you are right difficult to read.

C'est vrai que les entrées de ranch Texan, pour le Français que je suis, sont très exotiques. Je les ai vus surtout dans les films de western dont je suis fan.
Belle soirée à toi.

A very pretty entrance with the nice hanging letters. Glad you 'read' it for us - I couldn't make it out! Won't be climbing that fence if they forget a key :)

Yes it was hard to read, interesting find for sure.

messymimi said...

They like the place enough to care for it and name it, you'd think they would want you to be able to read that! Excellent pictures.

Hi Teresa!

Great fences! I just don't have fences to share this week, but I'm back into civilized Internet territory now so hope to have fences for next week.

All the best,

First I thought it said Raceboat. Then I thought it said Hatelot. Hmmm. I'm glad you showed the closeup, now I suppose it is their last name, but it still isn't real clear.

You are right - very hard to read!

Debby Ray said...

You are so right about that! I wonder why they don't paint it...or maybe they like to make folks squint! :)

Nice and very creative fence with his name :)

Cath said...

Would love an entryway like this...although far less rust and perhaps that arbor like gateway might not be practical at times but the rest of it, especially with some agapanthas to dress it up,...Yea baby!

Linda at To Behold The Beauty said...

I like the fence very much, although it could use some paint. But that sign needs some work. Even with the closeup, I had trouble making out the name. I'm glad you interpreted for me.

Judy said...

I like it but you're right, you can't read the sign very well.

It's too bad the sign doesn't stand out as it's well done.

I like it! I'm glad you "translated" what it said though. My eyes are still a bit fuzzy, but getting better every day. I'm looking forward to visiting my family in Texas this month and will be on the lookout for some fences while I'm there!

With the right colour sky and the right clouds, that sign would disappear entirely!
