Cool Pair

Hark, who goes there?
 Hi, Zim!
 And...?
 Gemilyn, too!
These were shots from November 2014. There had been a heavy frost and a dusting of snow.
The horses had come down to sip from the pond.
So far this year, we've had frosts and a couple of freezes but no snow, yet.
I think Zim's okay with that.

Love the photos. The bright light made their coats look so soft.
We had very heavy frosts the past few days so I suppose winter is back for a few days, anyway.
Have a great week!

It's interesting that they don't have the heavy coats as horses here. I'm not sure if you are in the area that had all the snow. I hope you were okay.

Beautiful horses coming down for a drink. It's nice for them that your weather has been mild. We are having first snowfall and icy conditions. At least we don't have to get to work like my grown kids. I wonder if horses have thicker coats in the winter like my cat, whose fur gets very luxuriant in winter.

Hello Tex, your horses are beautiful. We have not had many cold mornings until now. Great photos! I wish you all the best in 2016. Happy New Year! Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Have a great new week ahead!

Hiya,
A Very Healthy & Joyous New Year to you and yours!

Zim & Gemilyn -How graceful and beautiful!
I like the way you have used the aperture to create views, some where the subject is a horse and others where it is not, but the horse is still in the b/g - tastefully, well done!

Have a Beautiful Day, Theresa!
Peace :)

They seem to be quite happy with the cold! In Oregon, just before we left, we saw quite a few horses wearing blankets and they'd be in pastures with others who were not dressed for the cold. ( I kept meaning to take a picture, but never did). Anyway, we wondered if some horses are more susceptible to cold temps than others.
