Good Fences #114

I took these photos last fall of this sturdy ranch entrance. I passed it again recently, and they still hadn't hung a ranch name on the overhead bar.
They do keep a bison herd in their pasture.
Here's the link-up.

1. Link in a post featuring a photo or photos of fences or gates.
2. Link back to Run*A*Round Ranch Report in your post or use the badge code to display the Good Fences button in your post that automatically links back here.
3. If time allows, please visit some of the other participants and comment on their shared posts.

Thank you!

Definitely need a strong fence for Bison.
Wonder what they're going to call it?? Keep us posted on that one :-)

Very appropriate chunky and strong looking entrance for a bison farm. They must not be able to decide on a name!
Thanks again for hosting this fun link up.

Hello, Tex! What a beautiful entrance. I love the bison cutouts on the stone walls. It looks new, maybe the ranch name sign is not ready yet. As always, thank you for hosting. Have a happy day and weekend ahead!

Very nice! Sturdy just like bison. Love the walls with the bison silhouettes!

Forewarned is fore-armed I guess ... and you could hang from the horizontal if the herd comes thundering through?!! Cheers Hilary

Hi Tex
I love this post!
The entrance to the ranch is wonderful.
What really excites me is seeing the Bison. To think that some years ago they were at risk of extinction!
I would love to see the buffalo roaming the plains, to me that's America. (Not hard to guess I love Western movies)!
Thanks for hosting.

That is a great entrance. Love the bison decoration.

My word ... It's practically Un-Texan not to name your ranch, doncha think? I like the bison cutouts....but they still need a name hanging there!

It looks sharp, especially with the bison!

No name how UnTexan of them :) Great shots. Hug B

That is a pretty impressive entrance! I like it. Looks like they are waiting on the ranch name, the chains are there.

i could always write them a letter and give them some thoughts for what to name it..
Bison Bar B or BBB Ranch .. i am wondering if they can't decide what to call it or if they spent all their money on the bison herd and can't afford a sign....

Oh, to have such a beautiful entrance!

Wow! That's a substantial entrance! Happy Thursday, TJ!

I'd be interested to know what name they create. Wonderful fence, tho; perhaps they do not need a name.

S. J. Qualls said...

What an impressive entrance! Perhaps the owners are at odds about the name.

DJan said...

Nice cutouts on the side, so everybody knows what kind of farm it is. One day it will also have a name! :-)

This one deserves a second time around. I need to go the country and do some fence shooting. Not much in town.

Peggy Jones said...

Any reason for now name as suggested above. I like the bison on the fence. There is one huge ranch in Ky. down near Mammoth cave on the way to Bowling Green Ky. Love to see them roam.

Debbie said...

are those bison trying to tell you to "keep out" "no trespassing"?? i guess texan's decorate their entrances with a little bit of "can you top this" attitude!!! hehehe

this is a pretty entrance but it definitely needs a name!!! i thought of double trouble, but i like cranberry mornings name, that's a good one!! have a great day t, many thanks for hosting!!!!

Debbie said...

maybe they are being deliberately anonymous

Hi Theresa, those bison cut-outs are awesome. Perhaps next time you go by they'll have their name up! I am struggling to link up (this happens to me now and again) Please could you link my post to your meme. thanks for hosting. Jo

It's got a really solid feel to it.

Beautiful bison! It would be fun if the owners had a contest asking the community to come up with names to put on the bar over the fence.

It is a handsome sturdy fence ... maybe they can't agree on the name so it isn't up there yet. I bought my first buffalo steak yesterday and will grill it as soon as it stops raining around here. I am excited to try it ... they say it is leaner and more healthy than beef :) At my age you will try anything, Ha!

The rugged looking gate and fence are both very attractive, The owner must be satisfied with the gate and fence as is. It would be a good addition to name this handsome place.

Happy that you stopped by I'd Rather B Birdin' this weekend. I've had you on my mind most of the week since I saw three BBW Ducks perched high on a power pole at one of the parks this week. I'm gonna try and get their photos posted sometime soon.

So, you have a caracara lurking around your ranch?!! Cool. I do like them.

Have a safe holiday weekend.

Hi Tex, Nice to see a herd of domestic Bison at a ranch. I used to see a few in Northern California on the outskirts of Sacramento many years ago but that rancher gave it up - big tall sturdy fencing was used there. Have a great coming week!
